Stepping out on one here. Gamecocks and Vanderbilt coming off a bye from last week but Gamecocks severely needed it. Three OL starters should be back from ankle injuries- Zack Bailey, Cory Helms, and Malik Young. Dowdle suffered a broken fibula in the Tennesee game but AJ Turner and Ty'Son WIlliams combined for 25 carries and 133 yards. The Gamecocks took over in the second half of the Tennessee game, despite nearly giving up a TD at the end of regulation playing prevent.

I have said, and stand by, the Gamecocks are worse at being favorites as they are good at being dogs but I do not see us having the fits with Vandy that I was worried about earlier in the season. The Gamecocks will be able to run the ball effectively with Ty'Son and AJ with the fresh OL (and now some weathered back ups) also aided by the awful run defense from Vanderbilt. The only reason that Vandy is not the worst run D in the country is because they played MTSU and Alabama A&M in their first two games that went a combined 108 yards on 58 caries. Their games since:

KSt- 35at 201y 5.74/at with 76y passing
Alabama- 66at 496y 7.52/at with 181y passing
Fla- 51at 218y 4.27/at with 249y passing
UGA- 54at 423y 7.83/at with 126y passing
OleMiss- 41at 252y 6.15/at with 351y passing

Gamecocks rushing stats last two games:
Ark- 36at 159y
Ten-40at, 194y
The win in Tennessee it was nice to see the team go out and just beat someone on the field and be the better team. If Gamecocks play like they did against Ark and Tenn they win by double digits easy.

OleMiss, UGA(2nd best), and Fla posted their best offensive games when playing against Vanderbilt. Obviously some of these offenses rank higher than Gamecocks but with the OL players returning off a bye at home I will be willing to lose laying points, which is not often with this team. I will likely be on the first half pretty heavy when that comes out. Gamecocks officially playing for a bowl against Vandy, but beyond that have a serious opportunity to finish the season with 8 wins.

Roper has been catching heat with a few articles coming out verbalizing frustrations with him. If he does not take advantage of this opportunity then I think the writing would be on the wall for him at some point.

Bad spot for Toledo but if you look at Ball St vs the rest of the MAC so far it is really depressing. Teams worse than Toledo by far are covering this number on them so unless Toledo just plays completely flat all game I have trouble seeing this being a contest.

thanks mrob, yes if there was one pick on my sheet so far that I am shaky on it is the Irish. That is obviously going to be a popular pick on the boards this week for NCSt and ML. I have been riding the Irish for the last few weeks and really like what I see. Obviously this NCst defense is going to pose a tougher challenge than recent competition, but I feel the Irish are strong enough this year to wear them down over the course of the game. Should be a good game either way.

Not completely. My string of bad second half bets continues. I was going to take Ball st 2H TT U7.5 to double down on my u15.5 and didn't take which was the right play, and I bet off the EMU over with U24 at half and that ended up being probably the right side.

But, all in all a pretty good night still. Looking forward to this weekend.

I felt like I had to take this with the entire offensive line coming back. Not having Dowdle could be viewed as a negative but I personally think Ty'Son Williams is the better back and the offense has run better through him. We will certainly find out today.

Someone talk me off putting more on this.

EDIT I forgot the 1H in the line... that is first half TT

Vandy very lucky to be even close right now. Took a INT getting called back because of PI and a bs overturn on a 50 yard catch to even score the second TD.
 
Woof that was tough to watch the finish of. Roper could make someone want to stab their own eyes out. I hit all my bets and we won the game but I have a super salty taste in my mouth. Multiple TD drives by Vandy aided by penalty or one was a miraculous overturn on a 50 yard bomb called not caught. Gamecocks beat again in the box score but covered. I do not know what to think of that especially since we were winning by 14 with 10 minutes left and I felt like we dominated the game but when you look at it on the toto kind of a head scratcher
