Minister of Communication
-24.27 week 1

Not the weekend I'd hoped to start out with and chasing big favorites in week one is not advice I'd ever give to anyone. Never tried it before and now I've got a bit of a hole to target to jump back out of. Next few weeks I'll try to really only play early on key numbers, not the biggest fan of betting early. In the past I've seen no benefit from betting early really other than feeling good about having a number the on the side of my perceived key number I want or on the number regardless if it moved for or against me.

Again all b365 this season unless otherwise noted

Early thoughts on your game?
Always been a dog/under game but I really had a feeling we'd struggle against South Dakota in the sandwich and they did for maybe a quarter. Still have issues on defense in the middle of the field so can see some decent runs from the Hawks, the LBs have looked a tad sluggish for ISU standards both last year and the first 5 quarters of this season. DBs are very, very good which means virtually nothing against Iowa obviously. Going to be really curious to see how this version of the ISU offense does against the UI defense, Rocco has looked superb other than the first couple quarters in the downpour in Ireland. ISU might not be the NFL TE factory that Iowa is but he's finding them all over the field which is opening it up for the very capable WRs who have a load to replace but are extremely talented. Think I heard that the TE room at ISU is 12 deep lol and they have no problem with putting 4 on the field at a time. Crazy. And Rocco is making such great decisions. Obviously huge step up in pass defending this week.

Really thought the SDSU transfer QB could be what Iowa needs and he might still be but if he plays like he did against Albany the defense can mask the deficiency in the middle by clogging up the front a little more. Lots of versatility in the 3-5 to tight up some gaps if the QB play isn't there.

Iowa has UMass on deck, ISU goes to Ark St (trappy but bye afterward, over likely be played at open) so no reason to thing both teams won't be at their best defensively on the emotion side of the ball. I know the Fox show is there this weekend, not sure ISU have ever won when a national show is in Ames. Clones are a tough read for me right now, thought for sure between the Ireland and Iowa games they'd look sloppy and it was anything but against one of the best FCS teams out there.

Side note

Because of the Ireland trip ISU get 3 bye weeks this season. All are before conference home games...against Arizona, BYU and Kansas. The game following BYU is ASU also at home. Since the KSU game was considered their home game, the only road games in conference left are Cinci, Prime, TCU and Okie Lite. Obviously makes that win in Ireland so important in the scope of the conference.

Want to get NCSt involved this week and have decided to do it a couple ways

Maryland/NC State/Navy ML parlay +108 DK
NC State ML -130 2* DK
NC State/UTSA ML parlay +169 DK

Small action play on a team that look much worse than I think they actually are.

SJSU +37.5 -110

1h Texas Tech -30 -105 5* (crazy discrepancy, DK is 35.5 -120)
1h Oregon -17.5 -105 2*
