*Nuggets just laid down at Staples the other night. I'd expect them to come out with a better offensive effort tonight at home...

Grind, Tito - Happy New Year to you guys as well and continued health and success.

*2-3 the past two nights, but 4-1 if I'd bet FT as opposed to 1H. Yeah, I think it's time to start leaving myself a little more wiggle room and just abandon 1H bets altogether...

*No Marcus Thornton or Tyreke Evans means a whole lot of DeMarcus Cousins taking ill-advised jumpers from 18 feet away. I'll take my chances the Raptors can control the tempo and keep the Kings woeful road offense under check to start the game...

44½ [2H] -110 *2 UNITS*
NBA Denver Nuggets Team Total Over 52½ [1H] -110
*I know, I know, but the pace is actually surprisingly good in the Suns game, so even if the Suns manage to pull themselves up to only about 40% shooting, this stands a pretty good chance (plus I don't trust the Grizzlies, so that's why no middle on the 2H total). As for the Nuggets, they put up 57 in the 1H the first two meetings, and I trust them a lot more than the Lakers.

:searching:

The ironic part is that if Luis Scola had ended up hitting that runner at the end of regulation to push the PHX 2H total to 45, the Suns would have finished at exactly 40% shooting for the game like I'd capped it. *SMH* Sucks that I bought out a winning ticket, passed on the 2H middle because of my mistrust in what was ultimately the wrong team, and ended up losing 20 dollars for nothing in the process as well, but that's how the cookie crumbles sometimes. And thus concludes my moment of zen...

Monday:

NBA New York Knicks Team Total Over 51 [1H] -110
* 2 UNITS*
*62, 55, 56 and 72: those were the Knicks 1H totals against the Celtics last season when one could have made the argument that the Celtics were still an above average defensive squad. After watching them get torn up in the 1H against ATL the other night (and against Sacramento, Golden State, the Clippers, etc... on nights before), I don't think anyone should be making that argument anymore. Plus with slow starts their last two games at MSG, I'm sure Woodson's been preaching the importance of getting out to a good start against their heated rivals in this one.

Adding:

NBA Memphis Grizzlies Team Total Over 95½ [FT] -110
*Interesting total for a team that's hit that mark all of twice their last fourteen games. Interesting, of course, until you realize the Grizzlies have hit that number in (at least) ten straight versus the Kings, have hit 100 or more in nine of their last ten versus the Kings, and are going up against a defense that's given that number up in fourteen of their last fifteen games, and fifteen of their seventeen home games at Sleep Train Arena this season.

Sounds simple enough, no?

Tuesday:

NBA Milwaukee Bucks -5½ [FT] -120
*2 UNITS*
*Nothing to do with Skiles being out (to be honest, I didn't even realize he'd been let go when I put it in at noon) and everything to do with a) how horrible the Suns have been pretty much all season (I mean, really, other than Gortat and whoever the Bucks decide to go with at center, it's a serious mismatch at every other position) and b) the fact that the Bucks (typically) take care of business at Bradley Center against the lower tier teams like the Suns.

As for something I read over at the "other" place about how this might be an emotional letdown for the Bucks, trust me: as someone who's been all about "Fear The Deer" the past few seasons, they may have liked him as a person, but those fuckers have been tuning out Skiles as a coach for a while now. A fresh perspective is something this team sorely needs.

Wednesday:

NBA Chicago Bulls -6 [FT] -110
*2 UNITS*
*I'm terrible at anticipating line movement, so I'm going to get this one in tonight in case the number gets away from me: 1) Bucks are 3-7 ATS against the Bulls the last 10 meetings, 2) in back to backs this season, the Bucks are 2-6 ATS, with 88.6 PF, 96.5 PA, 3) Brandon Jennings led the Bucks in scoring against the Suns tonight with 29 points on 60% from the field; in back to backs this season, Jennings averages 11.6 PPG and 28.7% from the field and 4) and this is the big one... the last time Milwaukee visited the United Center back in November, the Bulls were up by 27 with 2:50 left to go in the 3Q - the Bucks closed out the game on a 41-15 run to win 93-92. I'm sure the Bulls haven't forgotten...
