How did you guys do?

I got raped in the ass by every game I added late. I got a little to excited for the start of the season and started adding and capping games I shouldn't have. Should've stuck to my original card.

BTW: Texas is going to lose SU to TCU next week fellas. Texas is not a good football team this year.

I ended up scratching out a half a unit (a little misleading, because most of my bets are 2 units...so in reality, I guess, a quarter unit profit.)

I feel like I got lucky, though. Memphis had a great comeback for me to cover after Hankins sucked pond water in the first half, and Missouri might have lost straight up if I hadn't gotten the beneficial Juice Williams injury.

I got pretty beat up by a few of the usual suspects that hurt others on this board...Texas, Virginia, and Virginia Tech. Really need to re-group and figure out what to make of this week...

i agree horn very dissappointed but i lost usc 1h however they are holding back big time they couldve ut that away 35-3 at half easily i did 6-4 with 2 pending maybe 3 can't remember but i always do better in day games than night caps

I played games I never usually play. Got caught betting giant spreads that were in meaningless games. . Had no business doing what I used to do that made me lose years ago.

After my 3-0 Thursday and my big LSU win, I was self set-up into thinking that all these big guns would want to kick ass...they didnt.

Dropped all my capping formulas, glanced over the games and just unloaded. Result? 3-8 on the day and two-dimes + in losses.

Was reading into a lot of other opinions and never capped one game. Not even the three that won yesterday

For all you guys who dont do any heavy capping, this here, is the result of just going by the gut.
Fortunately I have house money from bases. But that wont erase the stupidity. Back to the grindstone from here on out.

As far as value? Yeah, there will be plenty..on the teams that were able to cover as dogs, that nearly no one will be betting next week.

Fellas - don't want to be the asshole here but I had a great day (12-2, all plays posted). I stuck with the old school mentality of same amount of units on every game and that actually fucked me in the end as there were a couple games that I loved (Cal, Under Miami/Marshall, WVU) that I would have put $2-300 hundred instead of $100...certainly not complaining though. Everyone that responded to this post is an exceptional capper and all of you guys will turn it around this week, I'm sure of it!

I didn't do great, but made a couple units profit. The thing that I was really happy to see was that all my thoughts on particular teams played out as I expected (Auburn is NOT good, UAB is horrible, etc.), which lets me know I'm on the right track. Had I just said fuck it and played like 20 games, I would've made a killing - and that's nice to know.

Texas killed me. I had game and half and a total of 15 units that all went bye-bye.

Also got lucky on a couple of covers: Troy with a last second backdoor and Mizzou held on.

Week so far: 5-4, -2.5 units with TT still on deck.

Really, it could have been much worse.

same as you... didd real well on my orginal card and lost maybe evrey game i added saturday morning when i was just hyped up

for saturdays card i only had 4 games and went 2-2 but i feel fortunate to have done that.
1. i was one of the folks that had money on that trap at wyoming. i would like to say that it was a fluke but virginia was completely out-schemed by wyoming. the dline that i expected to dominate did but wyoming threw quick passes to counter it and groh never adjusted. sewell looked as bad in this game as he did in his last few road games of last year. no improvement at all. if they played next week with same line i would not only lay off virginia but would bet wyoming. it was NOT a fluke.

2. I also had mizzouri where i feel i was a bit lucky to win. 100 yard fumble return td and some other key turnovers. unlike seabass i think illinois benefited from the injury to juice as mcgee did a much better job of running the offense and throwing accurately than juice had in most of the first half. if they played next week and had the same line i would probably lay off the game.

3. was on houston plus 17 for my only real bad beat of the week. game was tied 20 - 20 half way through the third quarter and houston had a first and goal. still not sure how i lost this one. houston outgained them by a considerable number of yards , had a 29-23 first down edge but was stymied by 4 turnovers and a blocked punt. if these two teams played again next week with the same line i would not only bet it again , i would put money on the moneyline.

4. I had troy and felt pretty good about it the whole game until a perfect storm hit and suddenly it looked like i would lose that one. then i feel i got lucky with last second backdoor td with troy backups against arkansas backups. i would maybe bet this game again with same line if they played again next week. i did not actually get to watch this game so it would take a more in depth box score examination to determine which i havent done yet.

so what disappoints me a little is in the 4 games where i had put my cash this saturday, i would only bet one of them again for sure ( maybe troy ) in houston.

6-2 (+3 Units) thus far, with Florida State -3 for 1 Unit left on the card for tonight. I certainly wont complain about that week one! I am sure that you guys that struggled this week will turn it around and have a monster week next week!

As Always, GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!

WEBB

I had a very very good start to the day, night games hurt... Starting school again my bankroll isn't very strong so I was playing everything for $50-$150

Total 21-13 +$581

Game 15-9 +$511
Halves 6-4 +$70

I managed to lose 3 times on USC taking both halves and the game, Tenny, and Hawaii late. I was 19-7 on the day at one point, so ending up 21-13 I don't feel very good about how the day ended up giving back like $400 and something late. I also managed to lose both wagers when I had Illinois ML and Missouri 2H and I rode Notre Dame and Tenny. So I was pretty off from what the board had yesterday.

Mags my man! Congrats! Nice to see you had a great week.:shake:

8-2 +7.3 Units so far, varied my bets so I did lose one of my four 2 unit bets on Texas and lost Zona ML for 1 unit. Most the bets I hit were .5 to 1.5 units.

2 games pending, 1.5 and 2 Unit bets.

G-Man - Thanks bro! Yeah, not to sound like a dick, but i really expected it. I did my home work, stayed away from a number of games that I usually might play "just to play" and looked to see what a handful of you guys were thinking. I will continue this formaula moving forward until it stops working (which I hope is a while from now) - LOL!

That WAS the Key Mags...YOU did your homework. Nce job.

14-8 on the weekend with FSU still pending and up a little over 8 units. Hopefully the Seminoles can finish off the week right tomorrow.

roch if you clone that performance each weeek you will have a great year ! hehe i love being corny

I had a good start +11.2 Units. 5 of that was a teaser, so that helped.
Only regrets were talking myself out of BYU, Kent St, and Troy which were on my original cards. BYU and Kent I flipped, Troy I decided not to play.

Overall much better than last year, where after week one I had a huge hole to dig out of.

4-1 on the day. Only Texas let me down. Won on:

Troy +23.5 ARK. Got lucky there.

OKLA -40 unt. It was the slaughter I expected.

KU -7.5 cmu. I would've laid this up to 12.5.

OREGON -17 houston. again, got lucky. I knew UO could score points. But UH played tough.

Wasn't man enough to take Neb and Mich St. Really wanted to play GT parleyed with the under. Don't know why I didn't.

Stayed away from UVA at Wyoming. I think UVA will be good (will take them this week against Duke), but that altitude at Wyoming is a killer. It showed.

Something was up with Navy/Temple. From the get go, there was a massive amount of money on Temple while everyone was on Navy. Automatic no bet for me. In retrospect, Temple might have some value in the right spots.

Went 9-7 (6-3 early 3-4 late) almost cashed a 7 teamer (6/7) that I placed at 3am after drinkin shiner all night.

I was on fire at 12 AM and 3:30. I actually started yesterday cashing...

MICHST, MIAMI, G.T, B.C, WISKY, NEB, and IOWA.

7-0.

Then...

Raped on Texas, USC, and New Mexico.

Won Cal... but finished 1-3 when I upped my bets...

so 8-3... only up about 3-4 Units

I ended up 8-5 on SU plays, went 6-3 yesterday and 2-2 on Thursday. I won two 12 point 4 team teasers for a unit (they pay 1:1) and lost a half unit 9 team 12 point teaser. So all in all I ended up plus 4.5 units for the weekend. I don't think I'm going to make any plays on tomorrows games. Most of my wins were fairly easy (TD or more) but I was very fortunate with Iowa and TCU. My losses weren't close at all...So Car, Texas, and UVA yesterday. All in all a pretty good weekend. Can't wait for next weeks lines and the discussion throughout the forum

It appears you went 10-0 in the CFB contest as well? I'm not 100% sure if people entered the right stuff in yet or not, but I went 5-5 in that one.

Just like G-Man, I got sucked into a couple of bets I shouldn't have.

That USC second half, even though they should have hit the number, was just me getting too wrapped up in it being on TV and winning on Cal.

I should have stuck with the only two things I really liked, Cal and UCLA in a tease, but I didn't. It ended up with me grinding out basically an even day.

I was basically even as far as units went...I did have a losing record though...I added on way too much on thursday night with Missy st. and last night with USC second half..dumb dumb....i needed action with it being first weekend though.

I will be more prepared and play less this week...(geez I feel like Lloyd Carr)

I hit my big plays so that helped.

SOunds like a lot of you did well, and that is great to see.

Posted 2-1 up 4 units minus a little juice.. Also absolutely pounded Mizzu (noted in Vanzak's thread) and had to sweat that one out in the end..

Also hit Uconn (CB tail) and Iowa.. So overall pretty good weekend for me but did a horrible job documenting in here.

Quick thoughts.

Iowa will have value for awhile-- very young but very talented OL and they have RBs Sims and Young that will feast this year vs less talented Defenses, of which they will see several.

Mizzu-- Offense will be very potent.. Looking at overs

Iowa State--bad but expecting the linesmakers also know it.

Just a few I am looking closely at.

i went 6-5 an ended pretty much even on units but got my ass handed to me by texas. i had them for 2 units and the 1st half for another unit.
even some of my wins were really close ( iowa, mizzou, troy).

i think texas will have lots of trouble scoring against some teams and could easily lose su next week .

wvu looked like a really strong team that might kill every team just with their offense. white and slaton seemed absolutely unstoppable yesterday.

In the red this weekend. Needed Texas to cover for a 10 team parlay...and I thought it would be Mizzou to mess it all up!!!

After getting my ass handed to me yesterday ( when will I ever learn to not lay 40 points?), I can take some consolation in the knowledge that my Team Wins Prop of TEXAS UNDER 10 wins is a lock.

Feel pretty good about Louisville OVER 10 wins too, but the overs are hard to come by, kinda like asking a team to cover a 6 TD spread, when they can only score three themselves.

5-1

5 wins
LSU
Mizzou
Nebraska
UCLA
West Virginia

Loss
Texas

Unfortunatley I put a lot more in Texas than the other games. Still a very profitable weekend but who could have seen the Longhorns sputter like that.

Well damn, I guess I did. I wish I would have played those games. I also went like 26-10 in the Wagerline contest but I don't have the balls to play that many games...unfortunately. Looks like you had a pretty damn good week yourself
