well once again I got SCREWED by a player WD before the tourney. for some reason Sam Horsfield did NOT start so LOSE his "to win" @ William-Hill and should get a refund his match play

favorites NOT performing so far. Tommy Fleetwood [-1] Patrick Reed [+5] Sergio Gargia [even] (3 birdies #15, #16 & #17 to save his round) Rafael Carbrera-Bello [+2] Matthew Fitzpatrick [even] and Lucas Bjerregaard [+3]

young Englishman Aaron Rai. the Japanese Yusaku Miyazato and Aussie Jason Scrivener tied for the lead at [-5] with Challenge Tour graduates Indian Atwal Arjun Singh (OWGR #588) Englishman Jack Singh Brar (OWGR #221) and American Micah Shin (OWGR #447) tied 4th [-4]
looks like the whole damn tourney gonna be a just TRASH for me :golffrustrated:

Hokey Smoke!!! 1st round co-leader Aaron Rai with a course record [-9] 61 for a tourney [-14] and a four shot lead over Korean Hyo-Won Park [-8] for [-10] solo 2nd and six over "The Matthew Mouse" Fitzpatrick also [-8] for [-8] solo 3rd. 1st round tied 2nd Micah Shin with [-3] for [-7] solo 4th then six more @ tourney [-6] including my "to win" Scott Hend a [-4] round and Tommy Fleetwood with a [-5]. should be an interesting weekend. young Rai for pre-tourney 60-1 ALL the listed favorites made the [+1] CUT with Cabrera-Bello and Bjerregaard just "squeeking in" [+1] and Reed [even] having to shoot 6 under the last 7 holes to make

I won't lie, never heard of Aaron Rai.

I have followed him some. he made the main Euro Tour last season by winning three Challenge Tour events along with the Finn Kim Koivu this season. Rai recently finished solo 8th at the Nedbank [-5] and had three more Top Ten Euro Tour finishes this season. his problem is he usually has at least one over par round :(

GREAT "defensive" round from the leader Aaron Rai a four birdie two bogie [-2] for tourney [-16] and a six shot lead over Tommy Fleetwood [-4] and Matthew Fitzpatrick [-2] for [-10]. those three the final group for Sunday. will be interesting to see IF Rai can hold it together with those two BUT six shots should be a comfortable lead. weather forecast for cloudy with afternoon rain showers with wind 5 to 8 mph :)

well another excellent "defensive" round by Aaron Rai with a final [-1] for tourney [-17] gets him the one shot WIN over Matthew Fitzpatrick with a [-6] for [-16]. was cold, miserable rain during the round even worse than the 2nd round of the World Cup Friday in Melbourne. "The Matthew Mouse" got within one shot of Rai thru #16 BUT absolutely JACKED his par putt on #17 to give the tourney away. congrats to Rai on his maiden Euro Tour WIN :shake:
