Love how desperate books are for action on the derby. So many promos.

Hard Rock took a different approach and declared it Table Tennis Appreciation Week offering promos on ping pong every day this week.
 
Yeah looks like wind will likely not make much difference tonight but seeing it's almost guaranteed to rain for the game tomorrow night according to Accuweather. Something to keep in mind for the game. Likely won't be a huge deal since pitchers typically only go an inning unlike other games. Hot, humid and rain sounds miserable.
 
As mentioned, batters hitting to right center and rignt field will have the aligbt distance advantage. Rignt center is 375 feet and right field is 325 where left center is 385 and left field is 335. Dead center is 400.

Looking at the splits for each batter, below is the list of the most homeruns hit to right and left field over the course of the season.

It should be noted Olson has 17 dingers on the year with 9 coming at Truist park. Homers hit at home are in ()

Buxton 16 (11)
Chisolm 13 (13)

LIsting those in order of homers hit to the right side is as follows.

Raleigh 18 (all as lefty batter)

Lastly, listing them in order of homers hit to left side.

PRobably use this data to do a couple matchup props at plus money. If i knew raleigh was going from the right side first, one could get some tasty matchups there. Buxtons home field has similar left side dimensions as Truist. Chisolm gets the advantage of 13 homers hit at home, most to the right side which is about 314 to right in the bronx.
 
I took 1 regular unit and split it 10 ways. Playing each of these matchups to have some interest.

Each are 1st round matchups only.

Wood 146 vs cruz
Caminero 182 vs cruz
Buxton 100 vs rooker
Buxton 177 vs cruz
Caminero 165 vs raleigh

Essentially rooting against cruz and for caminero and buxton, lol.
 
All this Jack Nicholson talk in General Discussion. Watching the derby, Aaron Boone definitely looks like Nicholson a bit.
 
These announcers blow. They said Olson had the edge in the bonus round, but he's a rhythm hitter. No surprise he spit the bit when there where breaks between swings.
 
I thought Raleigh and Rooker were going to have a swing-off? How perfectly accurate is this ball tracker?

That's what I'm saying...a tenth of an inch!?! If they had gone to the second farthest, fine. Can't really argue those numbers. But would have rather seen a swing off

I just prefer the players wearing their team jerseys like in the old days. I'm sure the league is trying to gin up new jersey revenue but they would get just as much bang for their buck IMO if they promoted the teams instead of random all-star unis.
