Trying to research some things but want to make sure that I am evaluating style correctly. Below is a list of all the teams in the league. If you could take a minute for me and cut and paste that list and answer my question as best as possible it will help me immensely, thanks.

What I want to know is whether you consider each team to be a POWER team , FINESSE team , or NEUTRAL team as far as style of play.

Rangers -
Penguins-
Devils-
Islanders-
Flyers-
Canadiens-
Sabres-
Senators-
Bruins-
Maple Leafs-
Capitals-
Hurricanes-
Thrashers-
Panthers-
Lightning-
Red Wings-
Blues-
Predators-
Blackhawks-
Blue Jackets-
Wild-
Oilers-
Canucks-
Flames-
Avalanche-
Sharks-
Coyotes-
Stars-
Kings-
Ducks-

thanks gang.

question before... by power do you mean more of a trapping, defense first team? or a bunch of bruisers pushing you off the puck at any chance?

To me power is combination of hard hitting , push you off the puck type of team. Dump and chase on offense and throw the puck to the front of the net on offense type of team.

Finesse team i consider soft hitting , playing in space , tape to tape passing , speed teams, skate and/or pass it across the blue line types of teams.

neutral obviously a good mix of both.

But i leave it kind of to your personal assessment as to what a power team is and a finesse team is as i want to remove any preconceived biases/opinions that i have.

thanks for taking the time.

I think alot of teams moved away from the POWER type of hockey with hard hitting adn dump and chase to a more euro game of finesse, but now are realizing during the playoffs you need gritty players to come in and work. Last year guys like franzen and holmstrom along with the pretty rugged D of the wings is what helped them win that championship.

Im not sure I get the question, Ill describe each team the best I can, what they live by to win games.

Rangers - solid 5on5
Penguins- offense, offense, offense.
Islanders- good defense and good goaltending
Flyers-intense forechecking
Canadiens-offense, offense, offense.
Sabres-offense, offense, offense.
Senators-live and die with their best line (Spezza, Alfredsson, Heatly)
Bruins-solid 5on5
Maple Leafs-hope to catch opponents sleeping lol
Hurricanes-intense forechecking
Panthers-good defense and good goaltending
Red Wings-very hermetic play, you dont get many chances to score
Blues-went form worst powerplay last year to one of the best so far.
Blackhawks-offense, transition game
Blue Jackets-the trap
Wild-the trap
Oilers-speed
Canucks-good defense and good goaltending
Flames-intense forechecking
Sharks-very hermetic play, you dont get many chances to score
Coyotes-creativity (coach gretzky lets the kids play their game and not adjust their game to a system)
Kings-offense, usually good powerplay especially at home
Ducks-very hermetic play, you dont get many chances to score (despite their start so far)
