They couldn't have received 'fighting' penalties right? I'm assuming they got 2 minutes each for roughing (although delay of game is probably more accurate).

what is the real rule on hockey fights?

is it in the books are just understood what u can do etc?

I think the unwritten rule is if u toss ur gloves u best throw a punch!
Essentially this is the bar tuff guy who pretends to b hard n is "held back by friends" like let me at him!

I like the refs, inside they were like somebody just throw 1 punch just so we can hurry up and stop this lame shit.

i assume this in D league hockey? we had a team here twice....fight everytime...it was so awful...just terrible to watch

Then I went and saw the blackhawks the year they won the cup and was like oh shit

hockey live is fuckin awesome no doubt

there's an 'unwritten code' once a guy is down in a prone position or clearly lost the other guy will hold back, or else just when they tire

most of the guys have respect for one another

only time you will really see guys wanting to hurt each other if it's a fight in retaliation to something else (i.e Wings/Avs games in the late 90's early 2000's)

the closest you will get to something like that now is in a Bruins/Habs, Canucks/Hawks, or Pens/Flyers game, but it would need a real dirty hit to start something

so teed how do they let em call each other out and such?

one guy takes helmet off, or they just start?

usually they will square off, sometimes take helmets off

it's super rare you would ever see a guy jump another guy without giving him a chance to set himself

95% of the time someone asks another guy to fight

I thought this was an old video so I didn't watch it. I recall one similar to this a few years back.

I saw this lowlight on Sports Center this morning. Shortly after in this same game these guys pounded the shit out of each other to save some face.
