Heading to Vegas - Questions

Ill be heading to Vegas for a 2nd time in my life after a 6+ year hiatus. Ive never been during football season so excited to sit at a sportsbook all day sat-sun and fire away.

Any advice on best hotels for sportsbooks, where to stay, how to get deals, or anything? I just gamble and eat, no partying as those days are behind me haha.

cosmo is the new hot spot and the talent there is awesome. if u wanna watch and bet at a sportsbook check out west gate
 
I'd agree, best atmosphere is Westgate!

Cosmo is def great, hot chicks all over, but they not in the sports book, all other sports book on strip are decent, try to check out as many as you can. Lagassis stadium in Venetian is nice. I like Tao also, go upstairs, they sometime have a few tables , kind of a private spot, but I enjoy it
 
BEST sportsbook for a football weekend in the opinion of locals is South Point AND they have reasonable week end room rates, it is on the south end of Las Vegas blvd south of "The Strip" (which sucks anyhow) BUT it is my "locals favorite" they have numerous restaurants and are loose with their drink tickets for bettors :shake:
 
Looking like Signature at MGM Grand has the best deal at about 200 per night so might bite there.
 
As far as your generic book on the strip, I put Venetian ahead of many. Make no mistake, there are some weak ass books on the strip now even at some of your bigger hotels that cattle go to. MGM book is pathetic now but they want all traffic to head to TAP which is great, but they just want you to spend $$. I used to work at both MGM in Vegas for many years then MGM in the D. I can tell you MGM in Vegas would just assume get rid of their book which is why their old book was better. Everything they want in their LV MGM is the Chinese and young people to spend $ at Wet Republic pool. Their book is depressing.

I was just at Venetian last week since I had 4 nights comped, never an issue getting a seat though new sport book managers have become asses about drink tickets and reserving seats. 2 years ago no issues at all. $300 minimum bet to get one ticket but if you get lucky and one of the German managers isn't lurking behind the desk, chat up the girls and pull out a $5. Out host tried to get us to go to Legasses Stadium but be prepared to spend $$ there. It's small and tables run into $500-$1000 minimums. I'd rather use that $ to bet, F that. The vig there sucks tho on teasers etc.

Can't go wrong at Westgate, probably best experience for sports betting and they have a sports theater for cheap beer and dogs during games which falls in line with real world pricing.

Best thing you can do is load up the room with booze and food from the nearest drug store. I never leave my room without one or two drinks in hand if I'm not going right to craps table.

Better off betting online or with bookie and watching bets in book but there is no better feeling than cashing tickets at the book. The same small flimsy ticket they print out in hopes you lose it or destroy it in some way so they don't have to pay you. True story they had meetings to see if they could make tickets print smaller and thinner.

Good luck, if you need any help with strip clubs pm me, I know people lol. You not into night clubs or day clubs it seems but still know a few for that too if interested.
 
Venetian Pools are closed for remodeling for Tao Beach but you can use Palazzo pools. Gets a little crammed with 2 hotels using pools and vibe is very chill but still relaxing if that's your thing. My host failed to tell me, naturally. If you want to turn it up but not too much with a very diverse aged crowd go to Flamingo GO pool. Don't think you're too old there and plenty of ass.
 
STRIP STINKS.

Green valley, south point. WESTGATE, FREMONT, BINIONS.
 
Good tips. I'm going to have my gf with me for a day or two so being near all the restaurants and shit is a necessity. Therefore, i probably need to stick to the strip.

Yea I may end up staying on the strip but will cab to Westgate to watch games either Saturday or Sunday. I thought rooms would be like $100 a night, so the Signature at MGM at $200 seems like the best bet for the strip

It's not on the strip but totally worth it. There's usually a wait but I don't care thats how good it is. Also reccommend the Golden Steer for steaks if you like old-school places. The restaurants on the strip are fine but tourist trap prices.

Really? I don't go too often and usually just to beef up my online account. Never noticed any cuties there at all. And trust me I look - very slim pickens these days. When the Palms first opened every waitress in there was a model. Rio was legendary. Venetian, Wynn great. Don't see it anymore - I've surmised they are all in the high end nightclubs now. But I'll have to keep a better eye out there.
 
Venetian was the bomb 10 years ago. Big, soft cushy chairs, gorgeous waitresses and all the drinks you could drink for free - no drink ticket BS. Just give the waitress a buck a drink. now you got to bet a dime just to get a coke. Just watch at home mainly now.
 
Ya, hoping to catch up with VK again Thursday night and watch some women's tennis. I will have a crew of retards in tow. I guess I'm hoping to buy chairs saturday at CP to watch games. Idk. It's going to be a random weekend otherwise. Cant wait.
