What we've got here - is failure to prevent turnovers.
Last week Ville crushed Virginia in the stats. They lost by 3 pts but out-gained Virginia by 140 yards.! Would have been over 230 if you removed a hundred yards on turnover scores.
Worse yet they also held Virg to 12 first downs.
Virginia returned a fumble 39 yds to score in the 1st qtr. Virgina was also gifted another TD in the 3rd qtr by returning an Int for 47 yards. Take those two fake scores away and the game likely finished Ville 44-14.
On the other side, Miami was lucky to beat Florida State two weeks ago as well - as FSU had three(3 ) turnovers and still held the Canes to 28 pts!
If you want a little more insight??? Miami was also held to only 14 first downs and was held to only 97 yds rushing.
I lost my FSU p[ay to Miami on these disasterous stats 2 weeks ago.
My units (10) above referance the recovery of units for that loss- as well as another horrible loss to Pitt last week again!.
The degrading of FSU valdates the true picture of the Canes now. Both Florida and FSU have become unranked.

This is a revenge game for the Cardinals who lost last year in a shoot-out 52-45 to an NFL grade QB (Starting for the Saints) -who is no longer here for the revenge game.
Beck may have the edge for Miami - but not by 14 points...Especially if Ville doesn't have turnovers...

Vanderbilt ML -125 over LSU. 5 units
Common Opponent was S.Carolina. LSU was home. Vandy was @ SC.
Avg pts scored vs winning teams. LSU 19. Vandy 22.

Duke -2.5 over Ga Tech. 5 units
Duke won their last 3 games over three teams with winning records. They also created 11 turnovers from those teams.

Oklahoma -4 over S, Carolina. 5 units
SC scored only 10pts on LSU, 7 on Vandy and 35 on KY but KY had 4 turnovers.
Okla held Texas to 23, Michigan to 13 and Auburb to 17. I dont think SC is better than those three teams.

UCF -7.5 over West Virginia. 5 units
WV is a -8 negative team while UCF is Plus +10.
Common Opponent was Kansas. WV lost 41-10. UCF lost 20-27.
WV allowed avg of 40pts last three games. UCF allowed 27.

Boise -13 over UNLV 5 units
Better defense for Boise. Also averaged 40pts on offense vs conference.

UCF -7.5 over W. Virginia. 6 units
UCF has held 5 of 6 opponents to under 200yds passing.

Mich State +27.5 over Indiana. 4 units
New starting QB for MSU.
After the illinois win, Indiana has had much closer scoring games.
Spartans are good for at least 21 points on offense today.


Georgia -7 over Ole Miss. 6 units.
Miss had their hands full with LSU. Going to Ga will be much harder.

Florida -9.5 over Miss State.10 units.
Fla held all 5 ramked teams to an averge of only 23pts. They will probably shut out Miss state.

James Madison -2..5 over Old Dominion. 3 units

Schedule shows that JM faced 5 negative scoring teams. The only real test that they had was Louisville where they lost 28-14.
One common opponent was Liberty. Both teams beat lib.

Old D was tested by INDIANA - who is NOW third ranked. Old D had 3 turnovers vs Indiana.
The Marshall game was bad. Old D had 5 turnovers last week and was pounded 48-24. But this was supposed to be a revenge game vs Marshall, as Marshall beat them LY as well.

Looking at Old D they have turned the ball over an amazing 15 times this year so far?
Other than Indiana, Old D faced all losing record teams.

JM has a big advantage in the run game, holding opponents to oonly 74 yds/gm.
Turnovers may decide this one.
 
USC +10. over Notre Dame. 5 units
USC played 4 straigh winning teams in the Big10.
ND is facing a better defense that what they have played against all year except for miami, Fla., who beat them.
 
Last game tonight.
FSU -18 over Stanford. 5 units
The pride with this program is on the line.
FSU self=destructed in alll of their last 3 games with turnovers. In addition they played those 3 games by losing by one score.
Stanford is a negative scoring team when playing winners or plus scoring teams.
Their losses have all been by more than 20 points exept for Hawaii.

They played one common opponent - Virginia.
FSU lost by 8, Stanford lost by 28.
More important is the fact that FSU was actually favored by 7 points against Virginia,@ virginia!
While Virginia was favored by 17 over Stanford in Virginia!
. That makes FSU a true 24 pts favorite in the spread for this game..
The recent losses by FSU have deflated their scorung potential in the Public eye and Vegas has "adjusted".
Lets see if they can play a clean game.
