Arizona State +1 (-112) BOL over Texas State. 3 units
Its theBIG 12 vs Sun Belt.
ASU offers a dominating run game and a better defense than a year ago.
ASU shut down a Miss St. team last week to 10 points leading 30-10 with just 12 minutes to go then coasted with the lead.
Allowed backups to give up 2 late TD's by Miss State. Last was an 80 yarder.
Texas State returns 18 starters from a year ago but hasn't faced a team this good in its last 2 seasons.
Im going with ASU as they ran the ball for 340 yds last week vs Miss st.
The weakness for Tex St. was their defense. They allowed 33 pts per game LY with this same group against softer teams.


Friday.
Kansas -7.5 over UNLV. 2 units
Kansas lost 23-17 to Illinois last week but also had 4 turnovers in that game.
Im looking at the defense of Kansas over what UNLV has. UNLV has a good offense but not sure it can play well against the better defense of Kansas.
These two played in a bowl game LY on a neutral site. This time Kansas is home.
Kansas covered -8 last year.
UNLV game with High school grade team Utah Tech, has over-inflated their stats, with a 72-14 Shellacking.
UNLV allowed 27 or more points in 6 of 7 road games last year.-

Arizona +7.5 over K-State. 2 units
Defenses are nearly even, but Arizona returns 8 starters with the QB on offense.
K-State had 2 giant runs and catches for long gains last week vs Tulane.
Dont see that happening against Arizona today

Okie St -17.5 over Tulsa. 3 units
These are roughly the same teams as a year ago with the exception that Tulsa lost 6 defensive starters from last year./
The advantage is all Okie State as they return 19 starters.
Both played Oklahoma and Okie St won 27-24 while Tulsa lost 66-17.

12PM
Memphis +6.5 over FSU . 2 units.


Wisconsin +16 over Alabama. 3 units
Lots of talent returning to unranked Wisconsin while Bama is ranked 4th.
The Tide allowed 25 points per game in its last 3 games with competitive teams who played defense.
Bama also only averaged 25 pts on offense in those games. winning 2 of 3 by only 3 points each.
Thats exactly what we have with Wisky today. They allowed 20 points per game last year while Bama allowed 19.
Now the Badgers have a better starting QB in Van Dyke who appears to be what they needed - as last year they struggled to score 23 pts per game.
This is the type of game that Bama could lose. Its a Big 10 team on the rise.
Im taking the points with a small ML fun bet (not posted) - if they can play defense like I believe they can.
This isnt the same Bama team they were a year ago.

LSU-6 over So Carolina. . 3 units
When a coach tells the world he sucked in the loss, it was the first time he admitted he does suck. He can only go up from there.
Im not ready to put SC in the same category as USC just yet.
I dont believe QB Sellers for S. Carolina is anywhere near as good as Moss was for Southern Cal opening day.

Boston College#24 +14.5 over Missouri #6. 3 units.
What we have here is a BC team when healthy, almost beat FSU last year in a 29-31 loss vs NFL Drafted QB Travis Jordan.
I think they are up to the task of staying in this game all day.

Notre Dame -7.5 over Purdue. 2 units
Purdue lost their best RB to the draft. With that said, they were a negative scoring team last year.
Now facing ND is a whole different story and their SU loss to Northern Illinois was a shocker. ND owns one of the best defenses of all ranked teams and that should be a problem for Purdue.
This is almost a home game for ND as the distance between them is 2hrs apart.

Florida +3 over Tex A&M 5 units
Florida defense was solid against FSU last year.
Cant put A&M in that category.

Minnesota -17 over Nevada. 3 units

Appy State ML -113 over E. Carolina 2 units

Mississippi#5 -19.5 over Wake Forest. 2 units.
Line is large but not fading a team that won a bowl lat year vs Penn state 38-25. They should be able to put anther TD on WF and cover the number.

7PM
Vanderbilt -9.5 over Ga. State 2 units.

Kent State +49.5 over Tennessee. 2 units
Vols have Oklahoma on deck.

UCLA +3.5 over Indiana. 4 units
QB Transfer Rourke from Ohio now with Indiana, is solid, but now facing much higher level of competition from last year.
Road game favorite is surprising considering that UCLA is a plus scoring team with a good defense.
Both are hard to beat for Indiana as they were a negative scoring team last year.
New coach Cignetti from James Madison worked wonders last year but h 's now facing tougher teams in the Big 10. Not impressed with 70 points scored last week against nobody's.
