Sniffing out wins
BYU* -6 -130 vs Boise State x1
Boise State/BYU* Under 61 -105 x2
BYU tuff D was opened up last wk by Houston but I feel the Mormans got a talking to this wk and was explained the error of they ways and will tighten up a bit tonite. Last wk Boise lost their starting QB and Hedrick will be making his 1st career start in hostile Provo. I give BYU a large advantage in rushing, small adv in passing and a Big HF adv. The BSU defense has played much better of late, allowing 329 ypg and 15.7 pg in their last 3 games. They may have to take the run a bit more seriously with Southwick not in there. Boise st entered last week's game vs Nevada having thrown for 290 ypg, while rushing for 188 ypg, but in the game, with Hendrick as their QB they passed for just 150 yards and ran for 407. Without Southwick this will be more of a running team. BYU has been a running team all year as 62% of their plays this year have been a running play. All that running, plus having two good defenses on the field should keep this game in the low 50's. All that said, I still look for a 7 to 9 pt game.

qtrs
BYU* -½ -130 vs Boise State for 1st Quarter x half
BYU* -½ -125 vs Boise State for 2nd Quarter x half
BYU* -½ -125 vs Boise State for 3rd Quarter x half

Any concern over BYU coming off a long OT game?

always some concern Gorg... especially with just six days between games and still recovering from last week's four-hour, seven-minute marathon win over Houston. thats big in college but I really believe BYU's D wins this game tonite against a new (although serviceable) QB.Hedrick is a junior and hasn't played a full game since his senior year of high school and I have to believe he struggles tonite. Just my thoughts and I have been awfully wrong this wk

GL tonight my friend, hope you had a good day in the woods. I enjoyed your write-up on the bear hunting, must be quite a thrill to see those animals up close. I remember I was in Alaska salmon fishing and we were taking a guided trip on the Situk river and the guide was telling us about bears and what we should do if we encounter one on the river. No sooner did we go around the first turn in the river after launching and there is a bear in the water, and the guide says Tim he's on your side and if he comes at anybody it is going to be you. I about shit myself right there....and fortunately the bear heard us coming and he was up the bank and moving on into the brush in in a hurry. Blood you are an amazing guy still doing what you love. Keep on keeping on.....I know you have been busy this week with the hunting but am interested in your thoughts on the SEC games in particular if you have time. Particularly interested in SC/Mo. Meant to ask also about the timber rattlers, bet they are some nasty sobs. How the hell do you avoid running into them?

Thanks Gorg and Tim... A big griz could easily make ones ass drawup. Good story. Best not to have loose bowls when in that environment :) :)
I was telling my wife on the phone this evening how thankful i am that i can still do what i love. She is still working in LA and im up here by myself and she worries about the ole hound. Wind blew like hell this morn so i slept in untill i got a call on the radio that some hunters had let 4 dogs loose about 4 miles across the mountain and they thought the dogs had picked up a trail but because of the wind they had lost touch with them and wondered if I would go out and see if i could hear them yelping. by the time i got dressed and went out, the dogs were running a small bear down behind my house. I could have taken him but like I said before, I dont need the meat and I dont like to dog hunt. I didnt hear any shots today so I hope he got away. When the wind blows hard in these mtns it tends to swirl and there is no need for me to be in the woods cause mr bear will pick up my scent. Itll be bout 22 deg in the morn and mrblkbear want be out of his den till it warms a bit so itll be monday before I have another chance.
Ill start on some SEC thoughts now

the timber rattlers now that it has turned cold will lay in the sunny spots and warm...what really dangerous is being in the woods early in the season when it is still warm and they are moving. i have killed two around the cabin this yr over 5ft. I tend to leave them be if they are not close to the cabin and let them live their life

added 2nd half
BYU* -3 -115 vs Boise State for 2nd Half x2
