902 Washington Nationals* -1 -220 vs Philadelphia Phillies x2
901 Philadelphia Phillies/Washington Nationals* Under 7½ -110 x2
Hard to bet against Strasburg 3-0, 2.63 in his last four starts and his last nine starts went overright now. Hellickson @0-2, 3.32 in his last three starts and five of his last six starts stayed under. He has had those two good starts vs. Washington this season so the under is the easy play here. So is Washington at home. As much talent as they have they still find a way to screw me on a regular basis though!! The Phillies are just 1-8 in their past nine vs. teams with a winning record. The under has hit in five of the past seven meetings.
903 St. Louis Cardinals* +133 vs Pittsburgh Pirates x1...most stats pt toward the Pirates opening series @ home but I think there is enough valeu in the dog to give the Cards a try.Wacha, who is an ugly 1-3 with a 4.61 ERA on the road this season. Cole has that sub-3.00 career ERA against the Cardinals and has a 3.38 ERA at home this year. I'm not liking what I see out of the Buccos at present and Cardinals won four of last five games; they're 3-6 in road series openers. Four of their last five games went over. Pittsburgh lost nine of last 13 games; they flew to Denver and back for one game Thursday. Pirates are 6-4 in home series openers; over is 8-2 in their last ten home games.
905 Chicago Cubs* -1 -205 vs Atlanta Braves x2
905 Chicago Cubs/Atlanta Braves* Over 7 -190 x2 Cubs are baseball’s best team and my Braves the worst. But Atlanta is in the midst of a full-blown tear down and rebuild, hoping to morph into a powerhouse in a few years just like the Cubs did when they rebooted their organization earlier this decade. Norris is one of the worst starting pitchers in baseball right now. That Dodgers game was a fluke and he’s 0-4 with a 4.82 ERA at home this year. Hammel is 4-1 with a 2.23 ERA on the road. I tend to worry about going over in any Atlanta game, but the Cubs should hammer Norris. Chicago has won seven of its past eight meetings with Atlanta. The over is 3-0-1 in the past four meetings.
