I like the over at Petco. The Rockies opened division play this season with a three-game sweep of the Giants at AT&T Park that went 3-0 to the under. But since then they are 27-11-2 O/U against the division and 15-4-1 O/U away against the division. The Padres are 13-5-1 O/U in Shields' starts this season (6-1-1 O/U home). That's a lot of overs that have already hit in those situations. The Padres are also 19-10 O/U on totals less than 7 this season (17-6 O/U home).
 
General question... Does the weekend after the all star break tend to favor pitchers or batters? I would assume the rest would statistically help one over the other. Logic is telling me batters since pitchers always get some rest.. Any numbers to look at? Thanks! :)
 
I started looking at the posts and then I saw the Mets listed. I like a low blood pressure so I think I will do a separate post for Friday

-Hendricks on an incredible scoreless streak considering he pitches to contact and really can't strike batters out. Three really bad offenses in a row and he gets another in ATL, which has a combined four ABs against him with only Markakis and Pierzynski seeing him. Freeman still on the DL, so it'll likely be Kelly Johnson at 1B who will either hit a HR and go 1/4 or 0/4 with 3 K's. Maybin is a terrible two-hitter, Peterson isn't known well enough yet, maybe Uribe plays? Lefties have done better against him this year, which is no surprise for a contact pitcher though he has better K-rates than last year. On the other side is Teheran who got through a shaky start last time out in MIL only for his bullpen to blow it, which has at least happened twice this year as I've had him twice when this happened. People can argue his splits are huge this year, and they look that way, but I still think he's got a good arm and though this start is at home it's not that much of an advantage. Last AB is, especially with how CHC was not hitting at all the week before the break. They called up Schwarber to take the place of injured Montero and will carry three catchers with two of them being automatic outs while I have no clue if the kid will be any good. Dexter Fowler can only hit LHP, so that's a problem especially because he has to start. It's pretty much Teheran vs Rizzo and Bryant, which he has good numbers against Rizzo and Castro for that matter. Dominant coaching mismatch for Maddon, bullpen goes his way though CHC's wasn't very good entering the break and yet I still don't think that merits the price here. I hope Fredi stacks lefties against Hendricks, which would spell trouble for late in the game if it's tied, but the good CHC relievers are RHP anyways so I'm not sure that'd be terrible. The ceiling on the SPs majorly favors Teheran, so I'm going to keep looking at this one
 
Kershaw pushed to Saturday, would expect Zimmermann to be lined in the 135-140 range against unseen Bolsinger. The Nats lineup is really, really weak with all the injuries and though I don't think LAD's is much to write home about it has performed this year. Zimm is a really underrated guy who was always overshadowed by Strasburg and is going to be by Scherzer until he leaves as a free agent this offseason, but he does get hit hard from time to time and does not have the offense to win a slugfest. WAS has a decent bullpen, but it's very old and if you give me odds I'd bet that Storen won't be the closer at the end of the year. Jansen on the other hand is as lights out as they come for LAD, then they've got young arms plus one of the best relievers in the game the past few seasons in Peralta then Howell who has been killing it this year. Turner has smashed Zimm, Gonzalez held in relative check, Puig a bigger threat than WAS has after Harper. Really don't like Mattingly, but Matt Williams is no better and I hate the way his team plays baseball (starting with Desmond). Think Bolsinger will be on my card if the price comes where it should
 
Huge bats mismatch in Toronto, but the Jays can get cold and Odorizzi isn't a southpaw. Lefties he'll have to deal with aren't powerful (Reyes) or have never shown power beyond this season (Smoak), then having Carrera starting in the MLB in 2015 is a joke. Hutchison has thrown 1 QS in 5 starts over the past two seasons vs TB, so I expect those awful bats to at least poke a couple across. Bullpen advantage is massive, even if TOR sort of figured out their closer problem with the youngster Osuna (though he has been shaky too). Cash seems to be working well with that organization and Gibbons is a mental midget, so that doesn't hurt also. Both these pitchers were so high on the fantasy projections this year, but Hutchison walked everyone the first month and Odorizzi yanked a muscle in SEA. Hutchison surprisingly OWNS Longoria, which is the biggest bat to dominate in any lineup in the AL East for sure, but there are some high averages elsewhere. Odorizzi was great in the minors from the reports I read, fared well against another live for the HR team in HOU and is 100% QS the last two seasons vs TOR including a gem in start #2 on the road against them this year. A little nervous this will be the best price we see

Morton has been walking everybody lately, but may have taken a bit of a while to recover from getting smoked and allowing 9 runs. If his sinker works, MIL will be beating the ball into the ground until the flamethrowing PIT pen is called upon. Scary to see Braun/CarGo/Ramirez all hitting above .385 against Morton, but Fiers has gotten hit hard by Cutch and even Alvarez has a high average plus some dingers. MIL bullpen from Broxton to KRod is one I can support, but it's not close to what PIT features. I really don't like Kang batting fourth because he's a singles hitter to me, but I guess I'm going to have to adjust my hatred for lineups like theirs/LAD/NYM in order to accurately reflect prices because it almost seems like the market does not care. I know if i get a lead through Morton to the pen, it will be preserved, just not sure Charlie is trustworthy enough and definitely isn't on the overnight so I'll wait and see where this one goes

Hutchison surprisingly OWNS Longoria, which is the biggest bat to dominate in any lineup in the AL East for sure, but there are some high averages elsewhere. Odorizzi was great in the minors from the reports I read, fared well against another live for the HR team in HOU and is 100% QS the last two seasons vs TOR including a gem in start #2 on the road against them this year. A little nervous this will be the best price we see

the saturday start was to give Collo rest, the sunday start was because Jose needed to rest his shoulder and edwin required a day off as well,

you should see josh back @ third, and the OF be: Jose/Pillar/Collo/Valencia again

Morton has been walking everybody lately, but may have taken a bit of a while to recover from getting smoked and allowing 9 runs. If his sinker works, MIL will be beating the ball into the ground until the flamethrowing PIT pen is called upon. Scary to see Braun/CarGo/Ramirez all hitting above .385 against Morton, but Fiers has gotten hit hard by Cutch and even Alvarez has a high average plus some dingers. MIL bullpen from Broxton to KRod is one I can support, but it's not close to what PIT features. wanted to play the over here, I too feel that Morton's been toeing the line and I did like the good numbers the big boys for MIL has...think Fiers can be had as well.
 
No love for chidox and smarz...he's dealin lately and Sox 8-2 as favorite at home this year

Just anxious to dive back in and only day game.

Shark was great in that shutout, his team doesn't hit and if that KC pen gets a lead it's ovaaaaa
