Just made a debatable bet on Colorado. Francis is 7-3 last 10 on the road but still spotty and some Atlanta batters on short samples have hit him. Thing is 4 batters for Colorad are hitting 400 on short samples vs Smoltz and numerous Atlanta players got hurt tonight not clear who will play. See a depleted Atlanta pen backing him but Smoltz is on 5 days rest a negative. Smoltz 4-6 last 10 even pitching good. Assuming the number will go down always debatable. Anyway thats my logic and no telling how long that game goes as it is in the 11th now.

You can call me crazy but I may be tempted by taking the Nats RL +190 tomorrow. Redding has been far more consistent than Wells and I don't see a big mismatch in the bullpens. Not just consistent, he has a 2.64 ERA. If going strictly based off tends then a lot supports the Nats and against the Cards.

Belisle is no horse and the Reds bullpen couldn't be in any worse shape after Lohse got traded, Livingston and Dumatrait don't make it outta the 4th..and Harang and Bronson don't make it outta of the 2nd in the last four days..

Still thinking about the Washington game but Washington has won 10 of their last 12 home games not simply 1 three games series with the Reds and its hard to see how the Cards could take anything good out of losing consecutive games to Pitt.

Anyone on the early game? Zambrano usually pitches better on the road lately, but the match up between these guys favor the cubs when playing at wrigley... however, it would be just like Friday for Hernandez to pitch a gem and win outright. thoughts?

Plenty of thoughts just no conclusions. If I was sure Hernandez could pitch in Chicago i would play him but his one start there does not build confidence. Zambrano has been awesome mostly vs poor pitching and weak team but still he has been awesome. I could give lots of good arguments for either side here but will probably pass or go with a strong direction from the ump when I see him.

Where do you get the umpire info before the game when there is a new crew? I am also interested in who the catchers are as LoDuca has been out last four games and Cubs are rotating Hill and Kendall. I have been getting the lineups from Yahoo Sports but wondered if there is an earlier information available. (It is 10:50am and there is still no lineups yet.)
