For anyone interested in laying some serious juice

E.T.G.

I will be considering this because the truth is that you only pay the juice when you lose so this game is going to have to be very strong..-440 to win $200 won't sound that bad if they actually win. I will look at it as 45% return on investment.

7:30 --- South Carolina -220 @ Miss St

I will be able to go through this in depth when I see the starting pitchers for tomorrow but it is a play I am considering if I feel it is strong enough. I am not laying -220 to lose.

Is this USC's first game since kicking off the two kids from the team? Still amazed that they might have wasted a great future over a couple of T.V.s.

That was my question! These players that are gone, how much of a role did they play for the Gamecocks? If they were not starting, no big loss, if they were, this could change the whole complexion of the team.

WHO: USC (19-3, 2-1 SEC) vs. Mississippi State (13-4, 2-1)

WHEN:
7:30 p.m. tonight, 4 p.m. Saturday, 2:30 p.m.
Sunday

WHERE: Dudy Noble Field at Polk-Dement Stadium,
Starkville
, Miss.

STARTING PITCHERS: Today USC RHP Harris Honeycutt (5-0, 0.86 ERA) vs. MSU RHP Aaron Weatherford (3-0, 3.42)

NOTABLE: USC took two of three in last year's series with
Mississippi State. ... This is the Gamecocks' first trip to Starkville since 2002, when they won two of three. ... Mississippi State catcher Edward Easley is hitting .493 with six homers and 25 RBIs.

Mississippi State (13-4, 2-1 SEC leads the conference with a .378 team batting average. The Gamecocks (19-3, 2-1) are eighth at .298. USC's pitching staff tops the SEC with a 2.33 ERA, while the Bulldogs are last at 5.35.

Mississippi State's Edward Easley leads the conference with a .516 average. USC's Harris Honeycutt tops SEC pitchers with a 0.86 ERA and a 5-0 record

The price:

South Carolina -220 / Miss St +180

SC #2 in the Country has had to deal with sum shit earlier in the wk, 2 frosh were kicked off the team, one of them had played 17games and was versatile in the field.(the other pitched 6innings. This is the 3rd game since then) the outfielder was a contributro on Offense, (.310 -17rbi-1hr) SC has tried to move on from the early week madness before traveling to Miss to face the Bulldogs..The team is focused, believe that!

I am willing to lay -220 to win $100 if I am pretty damn sure that this play will hit. We can never be absolute but we can have a pretty good shot at it. It doesn’t sound all fancy, Risk $220 to win $100 but the flip side is if it hits you got a 45% return on your investment in 2hrs.

SC last few games:

  • W:13-1 –Wofford
  • W:9-2 – UNC Ash
  • W:9-5 – LSU
  • L: 5-6 – LSU
  • W:5-0 – LSU

So why can/should USC win, that is most important:

  • USC RHP Harris Honeycutt (5-0, 0.86 ERA) --- By far USC’s best pitcher.
  • USC pitching staff tops the SEC w/ a 2.33 ERA
  • The Miss St Bulldog are last in the SEC w/ a 5.35 ERA
  • USC bats have just started to awake and they are deep on the side of the field

SC wins this game with a good outing from Honeycutt and a little bit of offense imo…Just win baby.. I will decide on this last. I feel much better about this game than some of those CBB ones right now.

SOUTH CAROLINA BASEBALL PREVIEW

WHAT: South Carolina (19-3) at Mississippi State (13-4)
WHERE: Doby Noble Field, Starkville, MS;
WHEN: Fri., March 23, 7:30 p.m.; Sat., March 24, 4 p.m.; Sun., March 25, 2:30 p.m. (All Times Eastern);
TV/RADIO: Sports South (Dave Neal and Larry Conley)(TW Cable 21 in Columbia); 1320 AM and 103.1 FM in Columbia (Mike Morgan and Tom Price).

It's been five years since South Carolina played in Starkville, MS. But that will come to an end this weekend when the Gamecocks face improving Mississippi State in a three-game series starting Friday night at Doby Noble Field.

USC has won three straight series over the Bulldogs, whose head coach Ron Polk is a legendary and well-respected figure in college baseball.

"Coach Polk is one of the legends in college baseball and his teams are always very good and very competitive," Tanner said. "We'll have our hands full going to their ball park and trying to beat them there in front if a packed house. We've played pretty well lately and I think our guys feel good about our approach."

With two impressive victories under their belts this week, the shock over the permanent dismissals of freshmen Nick Fuller and Lonnie Chisenhall has dissipated. The ultimate goal remains the same – the College World Series in Omaha.

"We're going to go out and play like we've been playing and do the best we can," Harley Lail said. "I think the past week has brought the team closer. There's a lot of team unity right now. The pitchers have been excellent and we've been hitting the ball. We're playing great."

Robbie Grinestaff, who sustained a serious pulled hamstring five weeks ago, returned to full-time duty Wednesday night at Wofford and had a long home run among his two hits.

With Grinestaff back, USC showed a new look in the outfield Wednesday in Spartanburg. Lail, who had started nine consecutive games in leftfield, moved to right to make room for Grinestaff to make his third start of the season in left.

"We'll see how (Grinestaff) is when we get to Starkville" Tanner said. "He's probably not 100 percent but he's better than he was. He had a couple of hard hit balls (Wednesday). It will be nice to get his bat into the lineup."

The Bulldogs have one of the top offenses in the SEC with a .374 team batting average. They've scored an average of 9.3 runs per game. Edward Easley, the reigning SEC Player of the Week, is batting a healthy .493 (34-for-69) with six homers and 25 RBI.

"Right now, they're an offensive juggernaut," Tanner said. "We might have to pull a clock out. They're a great team. They've had a couple of injuries on their pitching staff but they're knocking the cover off the ball. We've had pretty good pitching, so something has to give."

Conversely, the MSU pitching staff has a staff ERA of 5.33, three runs per game more than USC's SEC-leading staff ERA of 2.26, and has surrendered 183 hits in 152 innings.

Opponents are batting just .206 against USC hurlers and have fanned 217 times in 199.1 innings.

Friday starter Harris Honeycutt has thrown 21 consecutive scoreless innings to lower his ERA to a sparkling 0.86. He's allowed 15 hits in 31.1 innings, and will be looking to improve on his undefeated career record of 13-0.

If the Gamecock hurlers are successful in limiting MSU offensively, the hitters should be able to score enough runs to capture the series.

That's what happened this past week in the lopsided victories over UNC-Asheville and Wofford.

"It's important to win every game," James Darnell said. "We try to go out every day and get things going. It was important to get two wins before this trip. Everyone knows we need to play hard to win. The whole team is a family. We're adjusted well and we're ready to move on."

Freshman Blake Cooper is expected to get the call for Sunday's finale. He made his first career SEC start and second overall last Sunday and allowed two hits in 5.2 innings in the 9-5 win over LSU.

"He's a winner," Tanner said. "When we signed him, we thought we had a guy that not many people knew about. He got recruited by some in-state schools. He's very poised and composed for a young guy. He has some stellar numbers. We'll find out this weekend."

NOTES:

-- USC is ranked 2 in this week's Rivals.com poll, No. 2 in Baseball America and No. 5 in Collegiate Baseball.

-- USC rallied in the third game against MSU last season at Sarge Frye Field when Jon Willard and Michael Campbell homered in the bottom of the 11th inning to give USC a dramatic 9-7 win.

-- Six different players homered in the two wins over UNC-Asheville and Wofford this week. USC pitchers had 29 strikeouts over the two games.

-- All three games this weekend will be televised by Sport South. It's Ch. 21 on Time Warner Cable in Columbia. Dave Neal and Larry Conley will call the action.

My suggestion, Green. Take that -220, and put it with a heavy ML that you basically know won't lose--be it a CBB ML or a NBA ML or whatever. Parlay it and you will reduce the juice without dramatically increasing your risk.

Very true...

I think this is a strong bet based on Honeycutt alone..

Friday starter Harris Honeycutt has thrown 21 consecutive scoreless innings to lower his ERA to a sparkling 0.86. He's allowed 15 hits in 31.1 innings, and will be looking to improve on his undefeated career record of 13-0.

Thegreek.com won't let me parlay it with anything

Now the line has moved as well, SC -240..

Still unsure.. Do I want to risk $240 to win a quick $100 or $480 to win $200.. I think I will have to be as close to 100% as possible to play this. Honeycutt is dominate, my luck will be the first game he gets bombed in his career

If my CBB plays had already finished this would be a def. play.

I really would like to throw some cash on the Gamecocks but at this point it looks like I might be watching from the sidelines... Honeycutt is a stud.. There is not many other pitchers I would trust more than Harris..

Gamecocks are hitting the ball and Miss St isn't one of the strongest staffs in the SEC.

Honeycutt is a beast and I think the Gamecocks come out w/ a victory today just wish the price was between -200 and -220. This could be a little out of my reach right now.

I am doing it...

Gamecocks are a fine team and if I am going to lose my money, I will gladly go down with one of the top pitchers in college on one of the top teams. His stats are too hard to ignore and SC is too good as a team here.

$300 to Win $125

everything-first of all great write up on this game, I can see why you are so enthusiastic about it. I will jump on the train as well for a unit. Good luck to us!

Gamecocks up 13-2 at the end of 7. Overall they are just crushing the ball. Honeycutt has recovered after giving up two in the first to shut down the Miss St offense.

Final was 20-3, Gamecocks erupted for 25 hits.. I wonder if thegreek is going to offer a line on this tomorrow.
