6/28/14 - Thursday Additions
7:00pm
$350 Presbyterian +39
$250 Howard +21.5 & $10 ML +1250
$200 Eastern Illinois +14.5
$100 Eastern Illinois/Minnesota O63.5
$100 Chattanooga +11.5
I love the offensive ability for Howard. Defense not too much, but there isn't much on Akron that worries me. Northern Illinois has a lot of new faces of defense and some inexperience at QB along with one of their top RBs out with an injury. I don't see Northern Illinois to be such an explosive offense as we've seen in the past few years and a couple big plays for Presbyterian lets them keep it within three or so TDs. Eastern Illinois I realize is missing Jimmy Garoppolo from last season, but this is a Minnesota defense we're talking about. Late TD wins it for Minnesota. Might be continuing my trend with giving too much respect to some of these FCS programs, but I think Chattanooga has the offense that can match Central Michigan and hope things will break my way at the end.
7:30pm
$50 Utah -41
Idaho St returns 16 or 17 starters; however, they're picked to finish in bottom few in the Big Sky Conference. Utah handled Weber St 70-7 last year in a similar game and return 8 starters on offense.
8:00pm
$125 New Mexico St +7 -120 (gasp)
It pains me to put money on NMST and I'll probably regret it. That said they are a dog FBS team playing a FCS team at home. Cal Poly has a new "co-starting" QB, an injured RB, and five suspensions (from what I can tell it is at least two of the starting secondary). They're not close to being a FCS power but more of a middling .500 team that even their fans don't have a real good handle on.
10:00pm
$100 Arizona St -45.5
$50 North Dakota St +24.5
I can't get a great handle on the NDST/SJST game. New QB for SJST, RB injured, 2 OL injured, 2 LB injured. NDST might be starting six true freshmen. SJST has 20-30lb average size advantage between OL and DL. What put me on NDST is the beat writers for SJST actually being concerned about a loss/close game. Arizona St will win by whatever they want to win by. I'm assuming one of those 70-single digit games, but with basically a new defense for Arizona St I'm a bit afraid of a backdoor and/or them taking the foot off the break in the 2nd half (although first game I see backups still pushing to get the reps).
