Colorado Rockies vs. Miami Marlins

Handicapper Analysis

Colorado is an underdog today largely because it has a reputation for struggling to hit well outside of its uniquely hitters-friendly ballpark.

However, the Rockies have accrued 12 runs through two games of this series in Miami.

They've succeeded so far largely because of their ability to hit left-handed pitching.

Fortunately for them today, Miami will trot another left-handed starter onto the mound today.

Conversely, Miami matches up terribly against Colorado's left-handed starter today.

They rank last-place in slugging .295 against Rockie Kyle Freeland's favorite pitches from lefties.

San Francisco Giants vs. Atlanta Braves

Handicapper Analysis

San Francisco is such a large underdog partly because it is on the road.

However, Giant starter Alex Wood feels quite at home in Atlanta.

In the Braves' venue, Wood is 3-0 with a 1.47 ERA.

Conversely, Atlanta starter Kyle Wright will not feel comfortable today.

After facing four straight lineups that rank bottom-10 in runs per game, he gets a serious challenge today in San Francisco's fourth-ranked lineup.

The Giants, moreover, match up well against Wright.

Primarily, he throws a curveball, fastball, sinker, and changeup.

San Francisco ranks 10thin slugging against these pitches from righties.

Best Bet: Giants ML at +140 with FanDuel

Baltimore Orioles vs. Chicago White Sox

Handicapper Analysis

The White Sox are too expensive to take on the ML, but they are in a great spot to take on the RL.

They are particularly likely to win by multiple runs because of how hot and consistent their scoring has been.

Since June 9, they have scored seven runs or more in eight of 13 games.

During this same span, they've scored five runs or more 11 times.

Oriole starter Dean Kremer will struggle today also because, during this 13-game span, the White Sox are slugging .451 against his favorite pitches from righties.

On the other side, Baltimore ranks 23rd in slugging against White Sox starter Johnny Cueto's favorite pitches from righties.

Best Bet: White Sox RL (-1.5) at +128 with FanDuel

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Milwaukee Brewers

Handicapper Analysis

A lot of situational factors favor Milwaukee's lineup today.

Regarding today's Cardinal starter, Dakota Hudson is historically terrible in the Brewers' venue.

At this venue, Hudson is 0-2 with a 9.82 ERA in three career starts.

Moreover, Hudson looks particularly unreliable today because his career ERA is 1.06 worse in daytime games compared to nighttime ones.

Meanwhile, the Brewers this year are hitting way better this year during the day than during the night while they are performing much better against right-handed pitchers than left-handed ones.

But expect the Cardinals to keep pace because they rank seventh in slugging against Brewer starter Jason Alexander's favorite pitches from righties.

Best Bet: Over 9.5 at -108 with FanDuel

Cleveland Guardians vs. Minnesota Twins

Handicapper Analysis

This is a great spot to take the favorite in because favored Minnesota lost last night's game in the bitterest fashion, surrendering a three-run lead in the ninth inning.

Today is also a great spot for the Twins because Guardian starter Zach Plesac has a terrible track record in Minnesota's venue.

Plesac is winless with a 7.71 ERA in two career starts in the Twins' ballpark.

Plus, the Twins rank seventh in slugging against Plesac's favorite pitches from righties.

On the other side, the Twins start Devin Smeltzer who faces a Guardian lineup that ranks third-to-last in slugging .324 against his favorite pitches from lefties.

Best Bet: Twins ML at -138 with FanDuel
