Colorado Rockies vs. Washington Nationals

Handicapper Analysis

Plenty of Rockie batters can't wait to face National starter Patrick Corbin today.

Jose Iglesias, Brendan Rodgers, Scott Schebler, CJ Cron, and Ryan McMahon all slug .500 or even much higher in at least eight career at-bats against Corbin.

Their success against Corbin must seem unsurprising considering the extent to which they match up well against him.

Corbin's primary pitches are the sinker, slider, and fastball.

Colorado ranks eighth in slugging against these pitches from lefties outside of Coors Field.

For the Rockies, German Marquez will collect the win today against a National lineup scoring way fewer than three runs per home game.

Specifically, the Nationals rank bottom-10 in slugging against Marquez's favorite pitches, the fastball and slider, from righties.

Best Bet: Rockies ML at -108 with FanDuel

Milwaukee Brewers vs. St. Louis Cardinals

Handicapper Analysis

The Cardinals, with their strong, righty-heavy lineup, get to face a southpaw.

Brewer starter Eric Lauer will struggle tonight as he faces his toughest test of the season.

No other opposing lineup that Lauer has encountered ranks as highly as the Cards do against Lauer's favorite pitches from lefties.

To be exact, St. Louis ranks second in slugging a superb .494 against them.

For the Cards, Adam Wainwright promises to protect his team's lead because he is at home where is vastly stronger than he is on the road.

Wainwright's career home ERA is 2.85 and his renaissance this year has produced an even better home ERA so far.

Best Bet: Cardinals ML at -122 with FanDuel

Boston Red Sox vs. Chicago White Sox

Handicapper Analysis

Boston starter Michael Wacha has been a model of reliability this season.

He's allowed two earned runs or fewer in all six of his starts.

His competition has included tough opponents, too.

For example, he shut out the Angels over 5.2 innings.

The White Sox, however, are disappointing. Their offense ranks 26thin runs per game as it struggles especially against righty pitching.

Chicago needs a savior in its pitching but washed-up Dallas Keuchel is not that guy.

Since Boston began its push toward .500 on May 10, it ranks 10thin slugging against the already repeatedly vulnerable Keuchel's favorite pitches from lefties.

Best Bet: Red Sox ML at -104 with FanDuel

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Los Angeles Angels

Handicapper Analysis

Blue Jay starter Hyun Jin Ryu has performed poorly in every game that did not come against poor competition.

He yielded an FIP (like ERA but factors out fielding) over five in three of his four starts this season.

The one exception came against a Red squad that averages fewer than three runs per road game.

Los Angeles, however, is one of baseball's most prolific teams in terms of runs per game.

The Angels will win easily also because Shohei Ohtani takes the mound.

Ohtani has been a model of consistency, having allowed a combined total of four earned runs in three home starts this season.

Best Bet: Angels RL (-1.5) at +132 with FanDuel

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Handicapper Analysis

Team rhythm is relatively important in baseball because teams play almost every day and their quality of play often tends to carry over from one game to the next.

A consistent pattern with Arizona right now is that it is hitting the ball well.

The Diamondbacks have scored seven runs or more in four of their past five games.

They promise to thrive tonight because they rank eighth in slugging against Dodger starter Mitch White's favorite pitches from righties.

The Dodgers, however, also enjoy a strong matchup for their lineup.

They rank first in slugging against Diamondback starter Humberto Castellanos' favorite pitches, the sinker, slider, and curveball from righties.

Best Bet: Over 9 at -118 with FanDuel
