More Guards Than Shawshank
Not sure how many of you play with the F5 totals but I've found some recent success especially in betting the Unders.
Some of the criteria I've been using to make my selections,
I like to find a match up where a team has never faced a pitcher before, or has very limited history. As long as the opposing pitcher is average to above average caliber going against a weakish offense or one that has gone cold of late. Paying special attention to angles where teams outright struggle against lefties, etc. It seems as if Vegas doesn't catch up to teams who have gone cold at the plate, and you can find some F5 totals set at 5 and even 5.5. The Blue Jays and Rockies are consistently set at those numbers, and as we all know the Blue Jays bats have all but disappeared lately. Another team that's been killing it on F5 unders is the Astros. Not having to deal with the bullpen disasters is just the icing on the cake.
In watching an unhealthy amount of baseball, there always seems to be an unlimited amount of ways for pitchers to get out of early inning jams and limit damage. Stranding runners seems to be more of the norm than anything else. Using the shift, and other defensive tactics, the ability to create offense against pitchers you have very little familiarity with can be challenging.
Just yesterday F5 Unders were 7-3-1. I'm currently 15-6-4 in the month of June making these kinds of plays. Curious to hear how everyone else feels about these plays.
