FIGHT NIGHT: DOLIDZE VS IMAVOV

Early Prelims:
  • 3/2.14 Marquel Mederos -140
  • 2.64/2 Quinones/Mederos Over 2½ -132
  • 4/2.76 Julija Stoliarenko -145

  • Next, we get a decent LW scrap with both fighters needing to make a statement. Quinones has an edge in experience, especially vs better quality opposition. However one of Mederos' best assets is a keen ability to avoid big shots and counter aggressive opponents. He should be able to pick him apart with better technical striking and slicker/quicker movement. Maybe a late finish, but I am still backing the over as well.
  • Stoliarenko has just shown better skill and dominance in her last 2 wins. If Carolina somehow keeps the fight standing, she could win a points battle, but more likely the LITHUANIAN secures the takedown(s) with aggressiveness...thereby piling up control time—likely decision.

  • Bilder and Lee have both shown to be plenty aggressive in past fights. Lee likes to control the center and is willing to brawl for it. Bilder may have enough savvy for the newcomer. His grappling and jiu-jitsu may prove enough for another mild upset. Note, I was taking Bilder but after the line went from Lee -130 to -195 over the last couple of hours I'm gonna sit this one out.
  • Both these WWs up next have lots of finishes. Gorimbo is a tricky grappler with long limbs. He likely finds a finish on the less experienced American.
  • Maksum likes to grapple and push for takedown. Johnson has not shown even decent TDD in the past, so this should be a slow ground affair with Azat riding him and scoring an easy decision.
  • Ah..."Meatball", if she can throw, she can go. This will be her first fight at Featherweight and her opponent was ready to retire before signing for this last fight. Most likely a money grab for Belbite and Molly can be exciting when allowed to bang. She should have a significant size and strength advantage here and likely secures a much-needed win and finish.

  • 3/4.05 Makhmud Muradov +135
  • 2/3.80 NATALIA SILVA INSIDE DISTANCE +190

  • 5/2.00 Randy Brown -250

  • Urbina is more technical and has size and strength. I think the line should be closer to -300.
  • Two MW prospects clash next, both needing a big breakthrough win. Khizriev has enforced a dominant top game through most of his 14-fight MMA career. Muradov has more power and better striking but has shown some weakness with his TDD. He has shown some improvement in his grappling and he usually gets right up if/when taken down He will sway the judges if he can log enough time standing.
  • I've always liked Viviane Araujo, but at 37 she's near the end of her run. Silva will be the younger, more athletic version of the older fighter and should be in control wherever the fight goes.
  • "Rude Boy" Randy Brown, I love the way this dude brings it. Salikov is almost 40 but holding up remarkably well, he will hammer home leg kicks a plenty, but Brown's length will touch him up early and often.

Top of the Card:

  • 3/5.31 Drew Dober +177
  • 4/2.55 Dolidze/Imavov Over 2½ -157
s-l1200.webp

  • Dober and Moicano will try to impose vastly different styles in the co-main. Dober wants to stand, move forward, and throw big shots. He has a granite chin and has been able to hide his inefficient ground game with power striking. Moicano is consumate Brazilian jiu jitsu expert. Although quite average while standing he has shown incredible toughness which may be his undoing. I think may hit harder than expected and I can see Dober securing a finished. His last 7 wins are all bu KO/TKO.
  • Honestly not very excited about this main. Both fighters are huge MWs and usually can dominate their opponents with size/strength but they are quite evenly matched in that area. Both fighters are quite good at boxing range and likely that's where this fight plays out. If Imavov can secure a takedown, he will go for a finish right away but I don't see takedowns coming easy for either guy. Likely a standup war that goes deep, maybe to the cards. Slight lean to Imavov but no value at -160 so I'll just hit the over.
