FIGHT NIGHT:ALMABAYEV VS KAPE

Fairly lame Fight Night card, although there's a couple potential up-and-comers. Other than the main, there's not a single ranked fighter on the card. 😏

After another down weel, I'm ready to start a streak today. No matter how shitty the card is, it pays the same. 😜

  • Johnson is more well-rounded, has more experience at higher levels and is currently on the best run of his career, winning 4 straight. Temirov brings gook raw power for flyweight, but isn't nearly as polished. So long as "InnerG" avoids catching a big flurry early he should cruise to a dominant win, likely by decision.
  • Lee/Aldrich doesn't seem very appealing on paper, what with "KGB" coming in off 5 straight losses and Aldrich 2-3 over the last 20 months, but the truth is both these ladies go hard and will bring the fight. Should be fun and mostly a striking affair, with Lee's roster spot probably on the line. Lee has more experience, is slightly bigger and probably stronger, and best of all is a juicy dog at +150. 1740860643447.png
  • Chepe Mariscal looks like a solid spot the way he's been surging and with Ramos' inconsistency...but unfortunately at -320 or more the odds are too much for me.
  • Ditto for Mario Pinto as this HW looks like he has potential, but I'm always leary laying a big number in a debut spot. The line has swelled over -480 lol. Last time out, Lane outlast muscle-head Robelis Despaigne as a huge dog as well. No play for me as I just can't back lane or pay huge premium, but Pinto does look like he may be a fun HW to observe.
  • Patterson has finished his last five wins(5-1) with 4 subs. Both fighter will be tall and long for 170. If the Englishman can get Barlow to the ground, we may see a sub rather quickly. I can see Barlow favored but I saw this one as high as -320 before dropping within reason at -200 today, still I'll take a shot with the dog ITD.

  • Haqparast-Ribovics are both solid Lightweights with the winner possibly seeing a number next to his name next week. Haqparast is on the better run right now with 4 straight wins vs good competition. Ribovics on the other hand is younger, with the fresher chin and a bit more active. Close call but would lean to "El Gringo". However, I'll stick the over as the better play as I don't see a finish to this one, although it should be an exciting stand-up kick boxing war.

I think Johnson might be ranked. But yeah. Not much star power here. I do like Temirov and

VEGAS 103 BONUSES

PERFORMANCE

Manel Kape (20-7) earned an extra $50K Performance of the Night bonus for a stoppage over Asu Almabayev (21-3) in the flyweight headliner. Kape thoroughly outstruck Almabayev from the opening bell, never allowing the Kazakh to implement his wrestling. “Starboy” eventually delivered too much damage on Almabayev, forcing the referee to step in at 2:16 of the third round, ending his undefeated streak that dated back to 2017. However, the Angolan seemingly scraped Almabayev twice in the left eye, which went unpenalized. This cunt did not deserve the bonus and probably should have been DQ'd for the obviously deliberate eye pokes. -SMH

PERFORMANCE

The second POTN bonus went to undefeated heavyweight debutant Mario Pinto (10-0) for his knockout win over Austen Lane (13-6). Pinto got dropped by Lane in the opening frame before rallying back to put the former football defensive end to sleep with a left hook-straight right combo early in the second round.

FIGHT OF THE NIGHT1740916543819.png

Meanwhile, Morocco’s Nasrat Haqparast (18-5) and Argentina’s Esteban Ribovics (14-2) gained an extra $50K each for the Fight of the Night. Haqparast and Ribovics went toe-to-toe in a technical masterclass that must have been a judges’ nightmare to score. Hasparast walked away with a razor-thin split decision with two of the judges giving him the first two rounds.

Overall, I made a few dollars on lame card, so I'll just chalk it up as a winning night and move forward.
