*Not much else to do tonight, so against my better judgment, let's bet some hockey... Washington total possibly a trap given they've scored 3+ in sixteen of their last eighteen, including nine of their last ten on the road, but worth the risk regardless methinks. Rangers with 3+ in eleven of their last thirteen against the Leafs, including the last six at the ACC. And the Blues 7-18 O/U at Scottrade this season, and 1-8-1 O/U their last ten overall, so hopefully the run continues.

*Gonna go cxbbum style on the Leafs game although, having said that, he always seems to go 3-0 while I always seem to go 0-3, so... Anyways, not exactly encouraged by the fact that the full game's juiced under, but hard to overlook the numbers in this one: Steve Mason's given up 3+ in his last eight on the road, and 3+ in thirteen of his sixteen starts on the road this season, while Jonathan Bernier's conceded 3+ in seven of his nine starts at home this season, and 3+ in fifteen of his last twenty at the ACC over the past season and a half. Plus, the over's 5-1 the last six H2H in Toronto (7-3-1 Overall). Doubt I sweep, but think worst case I hit at least one, so I can live with that (sort of).

As for the Wings, they tend to dominate us whenever they come to town, and I've already watched them push us around on three different occasions this season, so while I do kind of like the side, think the TT might be the safer option here for a few reasons: tonnes of legitimate scoring opportunities for the Wings in all four games this season, the fact the Sens tend to leave Craig Anderson to fend for himself on a lot of nights, and the Wings with the always popular "players only" meeting the other night. Think 3-1 Wings is in the cards, although I'll settle for 4-3 Sens.

*Well, the primary reason I haven't bet that much hockey the past few seasons (other than the fact I've sucked massively) is because I haven't been watching it all that much, so kind of hard to make informed decisions when you're just a casual observer. For that reason, I've tried to restrict my bets this season to those where the numbers support it on just about every front (with obvious degrees of success and failure). Only reason I bring that up is because the Predators offense has been non existent the past week or so, but it's tough to overlook the H2H numbers against the Leafs (3+ in six of the last eight against the Leafs, including 4+ in five of the last seven, and 4+ the last three trips to the ACC). And, of course, there's also the matter of how horrendous the Leafs defense has been the past two weeks (4+ in six of their last seven), and a lot of that due to James Reimer's poor play (3+ in five of his last eight, with an eye catching .859 Save %). If the Preds are willing to put shots on net tonight, 3 or more should be no problem at all.

Stars/Jets kind of a no brainer: four of the last five H2H have gone over, the last five H2H at MTS have gone over, Dallas 8-2 O/U this month, Dallas 9-3 O/U their last twelve on the road, Winnipeg 4-1 O/U their last five at home, etc... Of course, having said all that, probably finishes 2-1...

As for Sens/Oilers, the three games the past season and a half have all gone over, with the last two (including one here a few weeks ago) finishing 7-2 (once in favour of each team). As far as other numbers, both teams 7-3 O/U this month, and one that tuck321 should like: Edmonton 9-1 O/U on Tuesday nights this season, and 30-13 O/U on Tuesdays the past three seasons (not that I pay much credence to days of the week, but y'know...) Only thing that makes me a little hesitant about this game is the playoff situation (might be squeezing the sticks a little to start this potential make or break road trip), as well as our relative lack of offensive punch the past little while, but have to go with the numbers (Sens usually feature in high scoring games on our Western Canada trips).

Now let's just hope after this needlessly long winded write up I don't end up going 0-3...

*Braden Holtby with a 1.36 GAA and .951 Save % in ten career starts against the Canadiens (MTL TT 1-9 O/U 2.5). Think the bigger thing tonight is the slew of injuries hitting Montreal's blueline at the moment, so not expecting the Habs to take too many chances against that steamroller of an offense in Washington. Also helps that the Caps are the second best defensive home team in the league at 2.17, only allowing 3+ in one of their last five at Verizon.

*This one seems like a bit of a gimme given that Cam Talbot and the Oilers are only a few weeks removed from a blowout loss against the Islanders at Barclays (five against Talbot en route to an 8-1 victory on Super Bowl Sunday); in fact, Talbot's now given up four or more in three of his last four starts against the Isles (the first three as a member of the Rangers, a far more sound defensive squad than the Oilers). Slight concern in that the Isles offense takes a fairly big dip on the road (2.36 GF on the road vs. 3.23 GF at home), but it's a reasonable price for one of the league's top offenses against one of the league's worst defenses, so I'll take my chances here.
