This is a spreadsheet I create each year using the 2007 stats per team and returning starter info from Steele. I use it to try to forecast changes for the upcoming year.

Just thought I'd share. Some of you might like to build on it.

The grade ranges depend on the category. Really, they are just a very shorthand way to compare two teams based on last year's stats. I still do my forecasting before the beginning of the season--which is not included in that spreadsheet.

The grades are taken from "College Football Handicapping: A Professional Approach" by Trace Fields. It is available through the Gamblers' Bookstore online.
 
I'm working on my schedule and ATS tracker. I'll post that when I get done. It's also an Excel spreadsheet.

Figure I'll be done with that by next weekend.

G-Man...All you have to do is highlight row "3". Go to the Menu Bar and select...Tools>Filter>Autofilter. Now you will see down select arrows for each column. Now to filter for the two teams you want to look at...hit the down select arrow in column "A" (Team Names) and a small window will appear...select "custom". A pop up window will now appear ("Custom Auto Filter")...in the '"Team Name" box select "equals". In the box to the right...hit the down select arrow and scroll to the first team you want to appear. The next row "AND"/"OR", you must select "OR". In the box below "Team Name" select "equals". In the box to the right...hit the down select arrow and scroll to the second team you want to appear.

Your done...You should have the two teams side by side you want to analyze.

Keep in mind these are 2007 stats and 2008 returning starters. I find you still need to make projections for 2008 stats.

Also, because it is in a spreadsheet you can quickly organize the teams by conference or by (for example) scoring offense from high to low by just doing a simple sort.

G-Man...All you have to do is highlight row "3". Go to the Menu Bar and select...Tools>Filter>Autofilter. Now you will see down select arrows for each column. Now to filter for the two teams you want to look at...hit the down select arrow in column "A" (Team Names) and a small window will appear...select "custom". A pop up window will now appear ("Custom Auto Filter")...in the '"Team Name" box select "equals". In the box to the right...hit the down select arrow and scroll to the first team you want to appear. The next row "AND"/"OR", you must select "OR". In the box below "Team Name" select "equals". In the box to the right...hit the down select arrow and scroll to the second team you want to appear.

Your done...You should have the two teams side by side you want to analyze.

I have the categories on the left going vertical, but I am unable to copy and paste / place the teams across the top from left to right? Help?

Not to good with Excel but would like to have the exact opposite of what RJ has for a layout. Teams acroos the top and all stats on the side? Is it possible to do that and still compare two teams side by side instead of one on top of the other?

Thats how i need it.:shake:

I have the software. Was just looking to place the teams on top from left to right and stats from top to bottom. I can fill everything in, I just wanted to use the right set up.?

Not sure how to layout. I guess I need the numbers across and the categories vertical?:shake:

I appreciate it Ducks...:shake: I tried to reverse the layout but had no luck...

I just want to know how to make the format with the teams on the top using numbers, as to be able to put them side-by-side with the categories using letters if - that makes sense?. Im not interested in loading stats that RJ has. I have a different group of stats I use. Im just looking for a blank layout in the right formation. :shake: If you PM me I'll send you my email address if you want to send it.
