Ok, this has been cleared by mods and partners, so here it is.
Euro 2008 is 3 days away. The only condition to participate in this competition is to be a CTG member. No cloning please. I won't participate in the contest.
All interested parties just need to post their picks before the opening game kickoff (Switzerland - Turkey on June 7th, 18:00 CET).
Everyone posting their plays after that will not be eligible for the prize.
The prize is $150 for the winner and $50 for the runner-up.
Competition format is not complicated, all you have to do is post your plays now and check back as tournaments progresses, eventually picking up the award in the end.
I will sum up the points and plays when tournament finishes.
Rules:
Pick:
Group winner (from all groups individually) (3 points)
Group runner-up (from all groups individually) (3 points)
Competition winner (5 points)
Competition runner-up (5 points)
Now. In case you, for example, pick Spain to win Group D and Sweden to be 2nd in Group D, but Spain finishes 2nd and Russia, for example, wins the group, you will receive 1 point for picking Spain, even though they did not finish 1st (they did advance after all, so you get 1 point)
Similar scenario for competition winner and runner up situation. If you pick, for example, Croatia
, to win the whole shabang, but they end up losing in the finals, you will get 2 points for your effort. Same goes for vice-versa, picking the finals runner up gets you 2 points in case they win the tournament.
This should ensure no tie scenarios.
