No more 50 loss seasons, No more top 5 picks and wasting them on guys like the landlord, or Al Horford.
This team is primed and ready to do damage..

Hawks nation stand up and represent :bong:

Bring back the Pac-man Jerseys and Mike Fratellos perm and I'll be a Hawks fan again

What the hell is that new uniform all about? Is that a Louisville Cardinal on the shorts, or did they score some factory samples from Ball State?

Is it wrong that I long for Dominique Wilkins back in my life at least twice a year?

My favorite player outside Detroit ever since I was a kid.

Man they stole the Toronto Blue Jay logo and mixed it with the USA Jerseys.

Don't sleep on Acie Law!!

I think I'll use the money I saved on not having to buy a Mark Sanchez Jersey and use it to pick up a Joe Johnson one

You and I have a shocking amount in common when it comes to basketball.

You didn't have a soft spot for Manute Bol as well, did you? I loved that guy.

Greatest Day in BARs life was when Donaghy got busted for fixing games. He also had to love when all of the MAC shit went down..

Dude lives for moments like that

I actually did. GS turned him into a 3-point specialist in the run TMC days. Then he played in Philly with Mahorn and the Chuckster...that always made for good comedy.

You're right, it looks like they mated the UConn jersey with the national jersey and stuck some bird on there with basically zero context.

Part of me kind of thinks that Dennis Green might actually be their coach this year and they'll have Larry Fitzgerald coming off the bench as their 6th man.

Used to see Manute a decent amount down in the Norwich, CT area, by The casinos...guy stood in front of me at Papa Ginos once...good guy...

Not surprising.

Yep, watching that guy shoot threes was one of the best highlights of any given night. And everywhere he was, be it Washington (with an underrated Jeff Malone and Michael Adams), GS, or Philly, the fans would always yell for him to put it up.

God bless that Dinka tribesman.

Hawks website has gone to new lows. All beach photo shoots.. with dancers with names such as Desiree, Destiny and Ginger

That's good to know. He got a bad rap from some people as not liking whitey, but he took a lot of s**t from people when he first got into the country and up in Conn.

Yow, forecasting the money shot at all in that picture, Atlanta? Geez.

CTG loves the Hawks, playoffs or bust. -Those pacman jerseys were awesome but confused the shit out of me when I was a kid. I seriously remember the day I figured out it was a Hawk inside the circle, it took awhile.

Whos gonna start at PG?

We are deep at point guard.. maybe the deepest in the league.

We got the AI stopper Tyronn Lue

We also have Speedy and the rookie of the year acie law..Crazy depth there 'an_horse'

There is a reason we passed on Chris Paul and Deron Williams to take our 3rd straight lottery swing guy ( after we maxed out Joe Johnson)

The hawks have a plan.. and the plan involves winning a championship :prayer

Anthony Johnson really is starting though ... we're really going to miss Royal Ivey starting out the games, and only playing 12 min. That was really weird. I hope Johnson playing is something like that, to take pressure off Law.

Yeah, the Browns have tried to pitch that "plan" to their fans, too. What they don't ever say is WHEN they plan on actually winning that championship.

My roommate is from cleveland and he has been in a euphoric state for a while.. every game he comes home hammered and talks about if only we didnt lose that bs game to the raiders :36_11_6:

Browns and Hawks fans rise up !!

Forgot about that pick up.. as well as the great signing of Mario West. Losing Esteban will hurt..

Just a great offseason man. It rivals what the cavs did to improve their team.

Esteban managed to stick with the Celtics for 2 weeks...now he's off in Tel Aviv...

I'm a Redskins fan too so I can appreciate just letting young players develop/ actually drafting players (they actually got AJ last year).

I thought you were serious about the playoffs ... they've got the youngest team in the league so it's ok for them to not make any big aquisitions. AND last year, they had more injuries than any team in the league. Marvin looked great last preseason, then broke his hand. Now he's leading the team in scoring going into the season. They went 7-1 (I know it's just hte preseason) with Joe Johnson shooting under 40% from the field.

The Cavs are probably losing two starters and other key players (Z, gooden, hughes) are just getting older and slower. There's a big difference. If the Hawks stay healthy, they're in for a huge improvement.

Yea i like some of the moves, i was being a little sarcastic. Not sure i understand why they draft childress, smith then williams and sign joe johnson.

Didnt get why they passed on both of those pgs when they needed one.

Didnt get why they picked horford when they just got williams another undersized pf. That being said if you keep on having top 5 picks ..

There's no excuse for a lot of the moves, no doubt, although I wouldn't include signing Joe Johnson in that list. Those other guys aren't shooting guards .. or PGs which they wanted JJ to do initially. But like you said, if you keep getting top picks, good shit will happen. I think, if healthy, it'll start showing itself this year.

Pretty easy schedule to start the season
<table class="listTable" border="1" bordercolor="#000000" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td class="lt_date">Fri 02</td><td class="lt_opponent"> vs Dallas </td><td class="lt_time"> 7:30pm</td><td class="lt_localtv"> SportSouth</td><td class="lt_nattv"> </td><td class="lt_radio"> </td></tr><tr><td class="lt_date"> Sun 04</td><td class="lt_opponent"> @ Detroit </td><td class="lt_time"> 7:30pm</td><td class="lt_localtv"> SportSouth</td><td class="lt_nattv"> </td><td class="lt_radio"> </td></tr><tr><td class="lt_date"> Tue 06</td><td class="lt_opponent"> @ New Jersey </td><td class="lt_time"> 7:30pm</td><td class="lt_localtv"> SportSouth</td><td class="lt_nattv"> </td><td class="lt_radio"> </td></tr><tr><td class="lt_date"> Wed 07</td><td class="lt_opponent"> vs Phoenix </td><td class="lt_time"> 7:00pm</td><td class="lt_localtv"> SportSouth</td><td class="lt_nattv"> </td><td class="lt_radio"> </td></tr><tr><td class="lt_date"> Fri 09</td><td class="lt_opponent"> @ Boston </td><td class="lt_time"> 7:30pm</td><td class="lt_localtv"> SportSouth</td><td class="lt_nattv"> </td><td class="lt_radio"> </td></tr><tr><td class="lt_date"> Sun 11</td><td class="lt_opponent"> vs Washington </td></tr></tbody></table>Anything less than 5 - 1 will be a disappointment.

I defintly like the Hawks as the surprise team in the East. Think they can be a 6-8 seed. Are they going to be able to stop people this year? Im huge on Horford

Why?? Im not at all..
I dont think any of the florida kids will be good in the league

joe johnson's cock-eye swivels in it's socket
as he picks up his dribble and zips it across the middle like a rocket
the recipient of the pass doesnt flinch as he grabs
and slams like god damn smith's got wings doesn't land
sure nobody's in the building but it could be exciting
it's cooking , it's lighting ,
like a fine stew full of top 5's in the brew ,
not lying , could produce , a number 9 spot it's youth
and exuberance held together by an awkward optical
atlanta hawks , word , props is do
to johnson and this motley crew
the eastern conference's comic muse
but things gon' change like a raisin in the sun
brazen with statements that came straight from a tongue
still tasting earth's blazed herb spaced from some bud
saying the A could make 8 if they fastbreak , work and run....'an_horse'

A lot of good points ... Woodson has literally forced this team to run, which is definitely good. Props are definitely due, and the East is still a joke. I disagree with JJ's cock-eye being on a swivel. Swivel's are hard to control, JJ has full control of his cock-eye. But, overall, I agree.
