Enhland, Wales, Scotland

Does anyone know why England Wales (and i think Scotland) are allowed to field teams in the wc? They are not sovereign countries and are part of great Britain. I dont see any other country fielding multiple teams. Just curious.

I don't believe England is a sovereign country either. England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland are all part of The United Kingdom of Great Britain. Not sure if there is another example of countries that are part of the same Kingdom or Federation that are allowed to field independent national teams.
