Didn't even think about the Holiday pushing up these. Hopefully he creates some value.

All of us would be hitting at 70% if we used a range to vary from strong opinion up to 3 stars and then pick and chose which line during the week that we would apply where.

touts suck.
 
The following teams were bet heavily yesterday at 3 pm PDT:

(are you sure these weren't Bob?)

Ole Miss (went from -14 to -16)

Nebraska (went from -16.5 to -17.5)

Duke (went from +8.5 to +7.5)

Texas Tech (went from -20 to -21.5)

Southern Miss (went from -13.5 to -15)

Missouri (went from -14 to -16)

What was curious to me was that these lines all moved within a 5-7 minute window at the same time that Bob's Thursday releases typically do.
 
His website says the picks will be released around 3:00 pacific today.

In his defense on the lines, I have looked and the lines he counts are accurate at the time he releases the picks. If you have a season subscription (which I don't), you can get those lines before they move. If not, you're at the mercy of the movement.

He's accurate about the lines at the time of release, and he's handicapped by the fact he can't take the early line on one game and the late line on another. He's just got to go with the Thursday afternoon line, at 2:45 Pacific.

Would agree on Utah State and Houston and possibly Ole Miss . I dont think the other 2 possibilities will be but who knows. You are real good at the predictions every week . :shake:

On a sidenote to everyone else .

As far as Dr. Bob goes why so much hate for the guy ? From what I have seen from a far the guy at least runs a fairly honest business . Which is more then we can say for most of America . If people want to pay for his service and he makes people money YOY its what this country is about . Who here would pass on making 1, 2, 3 millions bucks a year for capping games ? Think its just silly to bash the guy for being sports handicapping service . How many here every used a stockbroker ? Well then you used a tout and paid a tout .

As usual, very well said. I dislike touts when they are dishonest and try to trick people into pay them for their crooked services. Dr. Bob, although I have never paid for his service, seems to be a pretty upfront guy who is not scamming ANYONE. More power to the guy, I would love to have his job and make the kind of money that he makes doing it.

looks like maryland, bama, and ole miss. the other 2 lines have not moved even a half pt from last nite. (maybe those are his strong opinions)
 
Maryland was a 3* at +7
Ole Miss was a 4* at -17 - surely would have been a 5* at Sunday night's line of -13.5

Not a chance this guy is touching 1 mil, let alone 2 or 3. Consider that college football is his baby. Post UIGEA, with the horrible yr he had in CFB '07, combined with the down economy, this guy might be at 500k (which I seriously doubt) but no way he's touching 1 mil. Throw in that numerous huge bookmaking rings have been busted in the past few yrs which has likely discouraged others from continuing or starting a bookmaking biz. It's extremely difficult to move money to offshore outlets, so unless you live in Nevada, you're incentive to subscribe is very, very low.

Touts income has probably dropped 65-85% post UIGEA with many, many factors but UIGEA being #1. With books becoming subscribers and oddsmakers getting better and better in each sport he excels at, his numbers in terms of winning pct and subscribers will continue to dwindle as the months pass. Dr. Bob is good, but it's difficult enough for a hot tout to battle the reverse engineering done by oddsmakers, let alone all of the other factors he would have to deal with in the current state of things.

I am with you bro. I thought I read in that Wall Street Journal article he was making 7 figures (that was a couple years back though) . Naturally agree with all the negatives that have hurt his business. Pretty obvious in the difference in line movement now compared to a few years ago. He had people caught by suprise I guess in the beginning or when he blew up and his games were highly volitale. Now some dont even move. I couldnt even tell you what his service cost as I never even went to his webpage . It's all good in my eyes . As long as he isnt scamming anyone then I have no probelm but thats me . Someone else can rightfully disagree . :shake:
