DP World Tour Championship

LeRinkRat

Pretty much a regular
DP World Tour Championship. November 15th thru 18th
Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (par 72)

last years winner Jon Rahm [-19] with "A Fat Barn Rat" and Shane Lowry (final round [-9] tied 2nd [-18] then Dean Burmester, Dylan Frittelli, Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose (3rd round leader [-15]) tied 4th [-17]

NO Justin Rose!!! https://www.golf365.com/european-to...ey-both-skipping-race-to-dubai-season-finale/ I guess WHEN you are the FedEx Cup $10 million dollar WINNER you do NOT CARE about a paltry $600K from the Euro Tour. NO Paul Casey OR Julian Suri (injury) either. allows Hideto Tanihara, Matthew Southgate and Robert Rock to "squeek in"

Haotong Li +115 over Francesco Molinari (50/107.50)
"of interest" but NO bet
Matt Wallace -110 over Ian Poulter. "WALL-E" playing well BUT seems to screw up whenever I bet him in a match play AND "The Poulter-geist" can be a PEST!!! :(

I wish Westgate or William-Hill had put up a tourney match play on Aphibarnrat this week. the Thai "round mound" usually play well in big tourneys as shown recently in China. also was tied 5th BMW PGA [-13] and tied 5th WGC-Mexico [-13] this season

also tacked on Sergio Garcia +110 over Rory McIlroy tourney match play after William-Hill put up a line. I usually do NOT "double up" vs an opponent BUT Rory been pretty stinky lately and Sergio "beat him like a baby seal" last week in South Africa

watched first round last night and it looked like Francesco Molinari was gonna run away with the tourney [-6] thru #14 BUT jacked short putts on #15 and #18 to finish [-4] tied 5th with four others including my pet ChiCom Haotong Li and Matt Wallace. the first round leaders Englishman Jordan L Smith and the Spaniard Adrian Otaegui [-6] with Danny Willett and last years winner Jon Rahm tied 3rd [-5]. five more at [-4] with another dozen at [-3]

SWEAT on my match plays as usual. REALLY surprised at my "Great Dane" Lucas Bjerregaard playing like SHIT. I thought he would compete this week with a chance to move up into the Race to Dubai money
Jon Rahm +115 [-5] over Rory McIlroy [-3] 2 up
Lucas Bjerregaard even [+4] over Shane Lowry [-2] 6 down
Haotong Li +115 [-4] over Francesco Molinari [-4] tied even
Sergio Garcia +110 [-1] over Rory McIlroy [-3] 2 down

OK!!! my man "WALL-E" Matt Wallace the 2nd round leader [-7] for tourney [-11] closely followed by first round leaders Jordan L Smith [-4] and "Yo Adrian" Otaegui [-4] along with Danny Willett [-5] for [-10]. "Fat Pat" Reed solo 5th [-6] for [-9] with Rory McIlroy [-5] Tommy Fleetwood [-5] Kiradech Aphibarnrat [-6] and Dean Burmester [-7] tied 6th [-8] really ANYONE'S tourney at this point with the perfect scoring conditions at Jumeirah Golf Estates so far this week

my match plays a mess as usual. I SHOULD have chanced "WALL-E" over "The Poulter-geist" who is [+2] for [+2]
Jon Rahm +115 [-2] for [-7] over Rory McIlroy [-5] for [-8] 1 down
Lucas Bjerregaard even [-1] for [+3] over Shane Lowry [even] for [-2] 5 down
Haotong Li +115 [+1] for [-3] over Francesco Molinari [+1] for [-3] even
Sergio Garcia +110 [-4] for [-5] over Rory McIlroy [-5] for [-8] 3 down

DAMN!!! my man "WALL-E" Matt Wallace started off the 3rd round like he was going to just run away from the field with birdies the first three holes for [-14] and a three shot early lead BUT a par on the par 5 #7, a double on the par 4 #8 and a bogie on the par 3 #13 along with FINALLY a fourth birdie of his round on the par 5 #14 ended up [-1] for [-12] two behind the leaders his playing partner Danny Willett [-4] and Patrick Reed [-5] for [-14] with Jordan L Smith solo 3rd [-3] for [-13]. then two more along with "WALL-E" at [-12] Dean Burmester [-4] and Lee Westwood [-7] "Big Bear" Westwood could have EASY shot even lower than his 7 birdie NO bogies BUT his putter stopped working a few holes mid round. I think a GOOD chance he can go B2B after his Nedbank WIN last week. my "cats & dogs" bet Adrain Otaegui a very pedestrian two birdie one bogie [-1] for [-11] three back. really ANYONE within five shots of the lead has a chance Sunday IF they shoot a "bomber"

somewhat better for my tourney match plays but TIGHT going into Sunday
Jon Rahm +115 [-3] for [-10] over Rory McIlroy [-1] for [-9] 1 up
Sergio Garcia +110 [-5] for [-10] over Rory McIlroy [-1] for [-9] 1 up
Lucas Bjerregaard even [-6] for [-3] over Shane Lowry [-3] for [-5] 2 down
Haotong Li +115 [-3] for [-6] over Francesco Molinari [-2] for [-5] 1 up

note: will be interesting to see WHO plays in the first Euro Tour tourney of the new season @ Hong Kong next week. PGA player Abraham Ancer with a five shot lead [-13] in the Australian Open going into Sunday :)

WELL HELL!!! NOT the finish I wanted!!! Danny Willett the WINNER with a final [-4] for [-18] two over both my man Matt Wallace [-4] and the American Patrick Reed [-2] for [-16] then three tied 4th my "to win" play Adrain Otaegui [-3] Dean Burmester [-2] and last years winner Jon Rahm [-4] for [-14]. freeking Willett started of with 55 foot double break down hill "gagger" eagle on #2. Euro Tour yacker Doogie Donnely said just before the putt "he will be lucky to get down in two" so naturally he MAKES the fucker!!! he had a couple bogies mid round on #10 and #12 to give me some hope BUT birdies three of the last five holes including the tricky par 3 #17 for the WIN. would have obviously liked to have CASHED either "WALL-E" or "Yo Adrain" BUT considering Danny's struggles with injury and just plain "losing his game" since "backing into" the Masters in 2016 it was a popular win. he got as low as OWGR #402 at one time

ended up 2-2 on match plays. VERY disappointed in my pet ChiCom Haotong Li's finish. he has been a final round "charger" lately but FAIL this week. at least Rory "blew up" as expected
Jon Rahm +115 [-4] for [-14] over Rory McIlroy [+1] for [-8] WIN 6 up
Sergio Garcia +110 [-2] for [-12] over Rory McIlroy [+1] for [-8] WIN 4 up
Lucas Bjerregaard even [+1] for [-2] over Shane Lowry [+1] for [-4] LOSE 2 down
Haotong Li +115 [+2] for [-4] over Francesco Molinari [-1] for [-6] LOSE 2 down

final Race to Dubai standings a little confusing to me
Race to Dubai final results http://www.europeantour.com/europeantour/racetodubai/rankings/index.html
winner - Francesco Molinare
2nd - Patrick Reed
3rd - Tommy Fleetwood
4th - Xander Schauffele
5th - Justin Rose
6th - Alex Noren
7th - Rory McIlroy
8th - Thorbjorn Olesen
9th - Haotong Li
10th - Matt Wallace

BUT https://thegolfnewsnet.com/golfnewsnetteam/2018/11/15/2018-race-dubai-bonus-pool-purse-winners-share-prize-money-payout-111470/ shows NO payout for #4 Xander Schauffele for some reason. THEY show >>>

1st - Francesco Molinari - $1,250,000
2nd - Patrick Reed - $750,000
3rd - Tommy Fleetwood - $600,000
4th - Justin Rose - $500,000
5th - Alex Noren - $400,000
6th - Rory McIlroy - $350,000
7th - Thorbjorn Olesen - $325,000
8th - Haotong Li - $300,000
9th Matt Wallace - $275,000
10th - Jon Rahm - $250,000

WHY Rose would get a half million payout when he did NOT play the tourney and "X" gets STIFFED is beyond me :(

another interesting article that site: Rory McIlroy intends to give up his full European Tour membership in 2019 aiming instead to focus on his PGA Tour career in the United States. McIlroy will start his year in Hawaii at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in January,

ON to the opening tourney of the 2019 Euro Tour next week in Hong Kong. will be interesting to see the field. Australian Open WINNER Abraham Ancer should be eligible because Hong Kong is a joint Euro Tour and Asian Tour sponsored event :)

OH and FUNNY note on "Big Bear" Lee Westwood who completely "blew up" at the end finishing double-double-par-double to fall to tied 20th, Doogie Donally said "well that's three doubles for Westie the last four holes and I'm sure it will be a couple more doubles at the Clubhouse Bar when he gets there" LOL!!!
