dmoore@dallasnews.com[/SIZE] The Dallas Mavericks will have to open this extended homestand without Dirk Nowitzki.
The league announced Wednesday afternoon that Nowitzki would be suspended one game without pay for his flagrant foul on Andrei Kirilenko in the first quarter of Tuesday's loss to Utah.
Kirilenko did not return to that game and is listed as day-to-day.
The Mavericks, meanwhile, will face the Houston Rockets on Thursday night at American Airlines Center without their leading scorer.
