Utah Jazz -10
I bet this lightly A: because of the large spread and B: b/c the early line movement is in favor of NJ and it's possible I'll throw a little more on this game should the line reach 8.5/9 at some point in the day...
New Jersey (like Utah) is playing their 3rd game in 4 nights, which early n in the season shouldn't mean too much...however UNLIKE the Jazz's schedule, they don't get a two day break for the rest of the month. This is game one on a grueling west coast trip for them and they're forced to replace their All-Star Vince Carter for the untested rookie Sean Williams (name dropping for you Killa ). The Nets have a history of HUGE losing streaks when a start player goes down. The last couple of seasons, they've played at a very high level when Kidd/Jefferson/Carter/Krstic were all healthy...and have played VERY poorly in stretches when one or more of those components are missing. Well Krstic is still splittin minutes w/ Magliore and Vince is out till December, and I invision a longer slide than the already embarrasing 5 game losing streak they are currently on. NJ is 0-5-1 ATS in their last 6 and I just don't see the trend reversing itself in the begining of a west coast trip with no real emotional lift to latch on to. On the flip side, Utah just had a poor little back to back on the east coast against the Cavs and the Pacers. They however have plenty of reasons to reverse their poor play as of late. Soo far this season, they've covered 4-1 ATS at home and have scored a crazy 112 point per during their homestands. Every shooting percentage from overall to FTs to 3point all rise at home soo far this year for Utah and with no real injuries to speak of, I see no reason why they don't take out recent frustrations on the deflated Nets tonight in front of their home crowd in a 110-83 victory! :moose:
