Jets actually had an interesting game plan vs. the Steelers O. They played their safeties deep to take away the downfield throws, and walked their OLBs out onto the slot receivers to either jam them or be in position for those silly quick screens that Haley seems to love. They didn't blitz, and they trusted their DL to put enough pressure on Big Ben and hold up while undermanned against the run, and with their talent on the line they were able to do it.
This is now the fourth time a team has shut down the Steelers O on the road (Ravens, Browns, Jags and Jets), most using not exactly the same, but a similar formula. No blitz, protect deep, disrupt the quick throws, slow down the run. It relies on a good DL to make it possible. But I'm not sure that this week Tennessee has the horses up front to do it all.
