WOW!!! what a start for Irishman Shane Lowry!!! TIES the Abu Dhabi Golf Club course record with a 62 for [-10]. four players three back @ [-7] and five more four back @ [-6]. NONE of my "cats & dogs" close

my usual "mixed mess" in tourney match plays with four up, three down and one all square after the 1st round. I do NOT know WHAT ever possessed me to bet against the "Poulter-geist" is beyond me. Tom Lewis has been plying good golf with a WIN in Portugal and two top 10 late season BUT Ian just seems to WIN his match plays like last week in Hawaii even in stroke play tourneys

Brooks Koepka +150 [-5] over Dustin Johnson [-3] 2 up
Tommy Fleetwood -120 [-3] over Henrik Stenson [even] 3 up
Thomas Pieters +120 [-5] over Rafael Cabrera-Bello [-4] 1 up
Matt Wallace -105 [-2] over Thorbjorn Olesen [+3] 5 up
Haotong Li +120 [-1] over Branden Grace [-2] 1 down
Thomas Detry even [even] over Byeong-Hun An [even] all square
Lucas Bjerregaard -110 [-1] over Ross Fisher [-3] 2 down
Tom Lewis -110 [-4] over Ian Poulter [-6] 2 down

do NOT think I will fool with the PGA event this week. all the players I like "to win" odds too low to fool with and in the tourney match plays players I like are against each other :(

well Shane Lowry "returned to earth" his 2nd round but still holds the lead with a [-2] for tourney [-12] one shot over South African's Louis Oosthuizen [-4] and Richard Sterne [-4] for [-11]. then Lee Westwood [-4] for [-10] solo 4th and four more tied 5th including Ian Poulter [-3] and Tom Lewis [-5] @ [-9] the CUT came at [-3] note: from what I saw of Oosthuizen's 2nd round he looks like he has the same form as when he WON the South African Open early December

the GOOD the BAD and the UGLY in my tourney match plays with three CUT wins and one CUT loss

Brooks Koepka +150 [-2] for [-7] over Dustin Johnson [-1] for [-4] 3 up
Tommy Fleetwood -120 [even] for [-3] over Henrik Stenson [-2] for [-2] CUT WIN 1 up
Thomas Pieters +120 [-2] for [-7] over Rafael Cabrera-Bello [-1] for [-5] 2 up
Matt Wallace -105 [-4] for [-6] over Thorbjorn Olesen [-2] for [+1] CUT WIN 7 up
Haotong Li +120 [-1] for [-2] CUT over Branden Grace [-3] for [-5] lose 3 down
Thomas Detry even [-5] for [-5] over Byeong-Hun An [-1] for [-1] CUT WIN 4 up
Lucas Bjerregaard -110 [-2] for [-3] over Ross Fisher [even] for [-3] all square
Tom Lewis -110 [-5] for [-9] over Ian Poulter [-3] for [-9] all square

Good start Rat...

After 'trying' to watch yesterdays 59 bid from FIGJAM it concerns me for next week with a GREAT tourney that they are basically making you pay for the PGA Tour Live sub to watch the best of the golf during even Golf Channel Coverage windows.

That sucked, but even on Tour Live the coverage was sporadic from what I heard.

Shane Lowry still the leader going into the final round [-5] for [-17] three up on Richard Sterne [-3] for [-14] with Ian Poulter solo 3rd [-3] for [-12] and the Spaniard Pablo Larrazabal solo 4th [-4] for [-11]. Lee Westwood [+1] for [-9] tied 9th and Louis Oosthuizen [+3] for [-8] tied 12th both "lost their games" the 3rd round. unless Lowry does a re-run of his US Open @ Oakmont it is his tourney

damn good thing I got a CUT win with Thomas Detry over An because he "blew up" the 3rd round [+4] for [-1]. two good leads, one "wicked tight" and one "blow out" going into Sunday

Brooks Koepka +150 [-2] for [-9] over Dustin Johnson [even] for [-4] 5 up
Thomas Pieters +120 [-3] for [-10] over Rafael Cabrera-Bello [even] for [-5] 5 up
Lucas Bjerregaard -110 [even] for [-3] over Ross Fisher [+1] for [-2] 1 up
Tom Lewis -110 [+3] for [-6] over Ian Poulter [-3] for [-12] 6 down

stayed up all night to watch the final round and WHAT a TOURNEY!!! Shane Lowry was 3 DOWN to Richard Sterne going to their final nine and it sure LOOKED like it was going to be a re-run of his final at the US Open @ Oakmont in 2016 where he had a four shot LEAD going into Sunday BUT shot a final round 76 and ended up tied 2nd with Dustin Johnson the winner BUT he rallied on the back nine to WIN [-1] for tourney [-18] one better than Sterne who shot [-3] for [-17]. Joost Luiten gets solo 3rd with the low round of the day [-7] for [-15] and Louis Oosthuizen solo 4th [-6] for [-14]

some GOOD luck and wicked BAD luck my tourney match plays final round. freeking "Salt" Pieters BLOWS a 5 shot 3rd round lead over Cabrera-Bello with bogies on 3 of his last 5 holes AND "The Poulter-geist" took a triple on #14 BUT birdied #18 to hold off Tom Lewis by one shot. I end up going 5-3 for the tourney :(

Brooks Koepka +150 [-2] for [-11] over Dustin Johnson [-5] for [-9] WIN 2 up
Thomas Pieters +120 [+1] for [-9] over Rafael Cabrera-Bello [-5] for [-10] LOSE 1 down
Lucas Bjerregaard -110 [-1] for [-4] over Ross Fisher [-1] for [-3] WIN 1 up
Tom Lewis -110 [-5] for [-11] over Ian Poulter [even] for [-12] LOSE 1 down

next week the Dubai Desert Classic :shake:
