Didn't get a chance to boo him one last time, was out of town when these bums rolled in last week. These Yankee geezer farewell tours are for the birds.

Sort of a cool commercial though.
 
The only team that should be giving him a farewell tour is the Yankees. He's had a great career and a great guy but c'mon he's never played for any of these other teams. Btw nothing wrong with a head nod to the guy but fuck giving the guy any kind of ceremony at a visiting stadium.

They have had ceremonies for visiting players/coaches in most sports when someone has had longevity and a great career. This isn't something new and unique to Jeter.
 
No doubt NYB, he's a very classy guy. Has never done anything wrong. But I still don't give him a ceremony in my 'road' stadium. I save the ceremony for the players who have played here.

Why didn't you use Cal Ripken as your Baltimore example?

The answer to your question may still be Ray Lewis anyway, at least for the people in Baltimore. He didn't "stab a guy to death." There's no question he was there when it happened, but you honestly think that he would have been the one doing the stabbing? It's much more reasonable to assume that he had his cronies do it for him, which they were probably more than happy to do. I'm not saying the guy is a saint for what happened that night, nor am I saying he wasn't involved, but let's stop with the sensationalistic crap that he's the one who stabbed the dude.
 
Lareux is the most literal guy on CTG. Ray Lewis pretty much got away with murder. Can't prove it. Suspect it.

I don't know why you're bringing up a person like Ray Lewis, has nothing to do with him. I mentioned I wouldn't give a ceremony for Derek Jeter if I was a 'road' stadium. I would save it for players that played in that stadium. Just my opinion.

Every major athlete coming up should model the way they live their lives and play their games after Jeter's career. All class, no scandal, great playing.

I hate the Yankees and have no reason to love Jeter, but I would encourage everyone at Kaufman to tip their caps to this guy, and they likely would.
