I assume Gus will be back to doing basketball which actually suits him anyway because you need a bit of psycho to call college hoops

Really wish one of the more high profiles conference championships (ACC?) could have been worked in for Friday night (like the Pac 12 used to be).

He's a nerd at this point. FOX's Corso

Became a company man

Best analyst in the game and it's not really close. Herbstreit is good but Klatt sees the game better than any. After Herbstreit (in CFB) it's Blackledge, McElroy and Jordan Rodgers. The latter still doesn't get enough credit for his color work. Really good. Distant 20th and 21st are Ware and Tillman. Both should be calling cornhole in Nebraska on a Wedneday night in December.

He was not good on Saturday

Saying Ohio should let Michigan score a TD when he did is the opposite of analytic brilliance. He was analytically incorrect in every sense of the word.

Let's revisit -

- ohio had no FG option going into the 2H. Zero. At some point analytics factors in a kicker who has the confidence of shattered glass after blowing not one, but two, non-pressure chip shots in the 1H.
- So ohio's FG option is cooked. And infinitely more so if there's 10 seconds to go in the game, from 36 yards to win it, into the wind, with the weight of 12MM ohio residents on his shoulders.
- Michigan gets its last first down with 1:55 at the ohio 5. You let them score and you have 1:50 and a timeout left, down a touchdown.
- Howard was bad but a better option than the useless FG kicker. At least Howard has elite WRs that could take a prayer and go for 50 or 60, get a jump ball or both. Likely? Not really. But a much, much better option with almost 2 minutes to play and a TO vs. 40 seconds to go, no TO and relying on a worthless kicker.
- Day chose the latter option. It was dumb. But that was the theme of the day for him.

Klatt made that quick call to let Michigan score right away. In hindsight, it was the right call and that's why he's the best.
