South Carolina -12.5 North Carolina (1 unit) Start the year with a solid win for the SEC.

MSU v Western Michigan o44.5 (1) Will be at what should be an easy victory in the home opener. Bet the under on almost every Sparty game last year and defense is still drives this team. Expect the offense to be better and Dantonio is going to play a couple quarterbacks. He will want them to get real reps in 2H leading the game over.

Northern Illinois +3.5 Iowa (1) Iowa is not a very good team. Big win for the MAC in this one.

Purdue +10.5 Cincinnati (1) Expect a close game. Cincinnati isn't good enough to pull away from an average B10 team.

Syracuse +8.5 Penn St (1) They will keep this game close.

They are going with Maxwell because he is simply better then Cook. The redshirt freshman O'Connor has potential but played poorly in the spring game and has been average in preseason scrimmages. They don't think true freshman Terry is ready. Both freshman have more upside then Maxwell with Terry the being the likely starter in 2014. Maxwell has all the tools but struggled under pressure with a back-ups playing on his offensive line and his receivers that couldn't get open downfield or catch the ball. Dantonio had him play live all spring and fall and his line comes into the season healthy so he should be better. I expect Burbridge and Fowler to be better this year giving him an option downfield.

Weak schedule, better offense and great defense will lead to a 10-2 season.

BYU -1 Virgina (2) BYU is the better team. UVA QB may be highly rated but I don't see him pulling off an upset in his first start.

Boise St +3.5 Washington (2) Southwick ready to have a big season in his 2nd season as a starter. They will be back in the winning side this year in their opener.
