Let start off the week with a nice winner.

Cincinnati Bearcats vs Memphis Tigers

The Cincinnati Bearcats had an easy 52-10 win over FCS fe Alabama A&M to start their season, but in their two games vs FBS teams they have not played all that well. Their second game of the year was at one and they lost to the Temple Owls by a score of 34-26. They then followed that up with a very lackluster 37-33 win over Miami of Ohio as 21 point favorites. The defense was to be one of the better in the AAC this year, but it has struggled in their two games vs FBS teams, allowing 34.5 ppg and 372 ypg. Those numbers may not improve this week vs a very good Memphis offense. Its a good thing the Bearcats possess one of the best offenses in the league as it looks like they will have to outscore teams this year. So Far the Bearcats have put up 579 yards of total offense, which includes putting up a staggering 557 yards vs a very tough Temple defense two weeks ago. This is also a balanced off that has averaged 236 ypg on the ground and 343 ypg through the air.

The Memphis tigers have gotten off to a very exciting 3-0 start. Well exciting in terms of how many points their games have put up so far. In game 1 they won 63-7 over Missouri State. In game two it was a 55-23 road win over Kansas and in their last game they beat Bowling Green at home in a thrilling 44-41 game. The offense for the Tigers has been nearly unstoppable this year as they have piled up 570 ypg and 54 ppg so far. They have also been very balanced on offense as they have averaged 254 ypg on the ground and 319 ypg through the air. This offense really puts the pressure on opposing defenses. Defensively they have been decent, allowed 354 ypg overall and 116 ypg on the ground. This is a team that could struggle more this year on defense as they have just 3 starters back on that side of the ball.

This game has the makings of a shootout. I know that Gunnr Kiel may not start for the Bearcats, but even if he doesn't this offense still has plenty of weapons and the Memphis defense showed last week vs a good offense that they can be torn apart. The Cincinnati defense was supposed to be very good this year, but they have allowed 67 points the last two weeks vs a Temple offense that is very average and 33 points to a Miami-Oh team that returned just 4 starters. Now they face an unstoppable Memphis offense that has put up 570.3 ypg and 54 ppg so far this year. This one should be a load of fun.

Yeah KSimp. When I made the writeup last night I felt this Cincy offense would be ok even if Kiel was out. This offense was alright by far. LOL
