Chelsea could be on the verge of a glorious collapse

guaranteeed

Pretty much a regular
Liverpool scored 2 goals in the first 20 mintes and are now tied on aggregate, although Chelsea are ahead on away goals at this point so Liverpool need another.

Liverpool is without Gerrard too

you should change this thread to "Chelsea on the verge of winning the CL"

The Guus Hiddink effect is really taking a turn and I won't be shocked if neither Man Utd nor Barca win it. Chelsea finally playing like a team this season, midfield is strong with Essien back. Do think they will at least be in the final

I don't think Chelsea can beat Man U

The best thing that could happen for them is Man U to continue their string of bad play and somehow not advance tomoro.

I think Chelsea can beat Barca though

with the way chelsea have been defending lately and the sharp decline of petr cech, I cant see them beating barcelona.

a man united-barcelona final would be amazing though, if they both manage to make it through.

Barca consistent? Disagree, they are getting a bit too cocky for their own good. The problem is teams just haven't figured out how to defend Messi. The kid is just running circles. He's doing the same thing Ronaldo did last season.

Ummm Chelsea's defending has been poor....and Man Utd's is any better? Both teams defending have been far from impressive. Both squads have missed plenty of games without their key players in Terry and Ferdinand. Funny enough both teams are having a hard time on who would play RB.

End fo the day, Chelsea's story is more appealing to the public, controversial start to the season and bringing in Hiddink to change the dynamics. Utd's story is getting old and lame, it would be nice to see them choke the EPL but they most likely won't.

Everyone wants to see Barca/Man Utd but something tells me it won't happen.

United will look like a different team with Ferdinand back tomorrow.

But Cech is the big worry for Chelsea rite now, he's been really hesistant and doesnt look like half the player he was not too long ago.

I heard rumors about Cech leaving as well.

Man Utd know what they have to do, ball is on their court, obviously that record that no English team has won at Porto...well throw that stat out the window because anything is possible this season.

Who's been more consistent than Barcelona this season? Nobody.

It's not just Messi either. Xavi, Eto, Alves and Iniesta are all a nitemare to play against.

Man Utd were just as consistent until the last 5 games.

Barca are also slipping up, check the standings. They went 3 games where they screwed this sup. Almost losing to Real Betis, getting beaten at home by their city rivals who are fighting relegation, then blowing it vs Atletico Madrid.

Umm EVERYTHING evolves around Messi mate. Eto is useless without Messi. Messi holds the ball up, he requires at least 2 defenders, the other players though maybe of quality do not posses the skills and talent that Messi has. One you get two defenders on you and you can blow by them with the pace he has, of course the rest of the team can do anything they want.

Eto'o is a terrible terrible striker, he does nothing, when you have a midfield like Barcelona's of course you just sit and wait. You can stick any striker up by themselves and let Barcelona's midfield do the work.

Barcelona are beatable, the only team in La Liga that can compete with them are Real Madrid, the standard of Spain has dropped significantly this season so of course their record is going to be superior.

you make some good points mike.

but I think eto'o is a damn good player.

I personally think a Utd/Barca match is very very intriguing, with Vidic and Ferdinand in the mix, that defense is absolutely strong.

Also Ferguson vs Guardiola, Legend vs Rookie. We both can't deny that from a marketing perspective this is the final UEFA and perhaps majority of the globe will want to see.

But I honestly cannot help but think Chelsea could play a spoiler role. Their defense has been horrendous since Mourinho hast left but also during this season when thigns were shaky, it was the absence of Essien that Chelsea were really missing. Since he's back in the line up, Lampard has had more freedom to attack and he's making good use of his chances. I just hope Drogba doesn't get lazy, his antics are annoying.

Let's wait till after tomorrow before jumping to conclusions!

Depends on the book, 2.5 is standard but you will get books that would of had 2.25 a little bit juicy. 2.5 would of gotten you around 2.10

Chelsea beating Barca will depend on whether Essien can keep up with Messi.

Eto and Henry can be held in check but stopping Messi, especially down the right side in the first leg with Ashley Cole suspended, will make or break Chelsea.

They should be able to score on Barca so I don't think that will be a problem
