Hakan's Picks
Pretty much a regular
Juventus v. Borussia Dortmund
Pick: Dortmund +.5 at -121 (5Dimes)
Although Juve is again running away with the Serie A title, I don’t think they have any confidence against Europe’s best teams. These types of psychological hurdles are hard to overcome. Juve has shown to be vulnerable against counter-attacking teams – and Dortmund, whom have regained some confidence with three straight wins on the bounce – are one of the deadliest teams off the break. I think Dortmund will come away with a result.
Manchester City v. Barcelona
Pick: Manchester City +.5 at -126 (5Dimes)
The Citizens may have recently lost ground to Chelsea in the BPL title race, but that was largely due to the absence of Yaya Toure, who was representing the Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations. City is not the same team without their holding midfielder. Barca is a small team, and I don't think they matchup well with the English style of play. Yes, Barca won both legs in this same fixture last season, but City was reduced to 10-men in both of those games. Teams have figured out Barca in recent years, and I feel that City will not lose at home.
