Good luck this week, Tim. I'll be pulling for the Terps on Saturday. :shake:

For some reason I haven't been able to find your picks this year, Timh. Glad I did this week.

That note on BYU Hoge being questionable with concussion is interesting. Mangum has not practiced since the first week in September so they may be down to #3 against Boise.

I'm struggling this year. Finally got even by going 4-0-1 in Week 5, for season total of 11-11-2 but still not seeing them clearly and some of my picks have been off by 30 points or more.

What are you thinking on Maryland this week?

Tahoe, I think the key for MD to be competitive in this game is to be able to have some success running the ball and not be in 3rd and long all day against a very tough OSU defense. MD does have some decent speed at the RB position and hopefully they will be able to get out on the edge and have some success running the ball. OSU is very talented and deep and will be able to rotate their guys on the DL to keep them fresh. Bortenschlager did a nice job against Minnesota, but was successful imo because we were able to run the football and he didn't get put in a lot of adverse down and distance situations. OSU though is obviously at a much higher level talent wise, and their front 7 on D is very imposing. If Terps can run the ball a little and have some flexibility in their play calling it will really help. My concern is getting out defense worn out by being on the field too much. MD must be able to establish some kind of offense, not get dominated in time of possession and avoid turnovers to keep this game competitive. I've been really happy with Walt Bell MD offensive coordinator. He is really good at accentuating the strengths of his personnel and creative in his play calling. I thought he really had a nice game plan vs. Minn and got Bortenschlager going with some nice safe pass calls to build his confidence. The offense needs to be catered to Bortenschlager's strengths because unlike Pigrome and K. Hill he is not really a runner and the zone read is not as much of an option but they still do occasionally mix it in. I'm hopeful MD can compete on the LOS in this game but OSU deeper and likely to wear them down.

i really like your terps this week to cover the 31. thoughts??

Is it Temple’s pace that keeps you off another ECU Over?
Great question and I would say based on the eye test of Temple (referring to So Fla game which I watched) they are just so bad on offense that I'm not sure I can bring myself to make the play, though sorely tempted because ECU defense has a way of making everybody look good. Still considering it and the line movement today is putting it in range.
