Thanks Play, BOL this week.

Wake Forest -5.5 -108 1* - Missed the good number here but still like it. As a number of people pointed out WF really out played Syracuse last week and have shown they can move the ball through the air. Army secondary is horrendous and was gouged by Fordham in week 1. WF should be able to move the ball through the air with a lot of success this week and Army not built to come from behind.

I am likely to play Maryland this week, DrTim. Do you have any comments on their chances to cover touchdown+ spread. Appreciate any reply. Got Wake at 3.5. Good luck to you.

Bull last week was a disaster for the Terps in the 2H where Babers thoroughly out-coached Edsall. Terp defense had played pretty well in 1h and managed to hold the BG offense down and led 13-6 at half. 2H Babers adjusted and went no-back sets on probably 25 plays or so and really spread MD out and exhausted their man cover resources. On defense they basically stacked the box to shut down MD running game and dare Hills to beat them with the pass which he couldn't do because he has no ability to throw down field and has been inaccurate even with the more medium/short game. As a result, MD offense couldn't sustain anything in 2H and didn't keep their D off the field and BG ended up running a ridiculous 105 plays for the game, scored 42 pts in 2H, racked up 35 FD, and 692 yards of offense. MD defense was exhausted by the 4th qtr and just fell apart. They were unable to deal with the 5 wr formations and did not generate enough pressure on Johnson or disrupt the timing of the BG offense with effective bump coverage off the LOS. Needless to say there a lot of changes in the making for this week. Terps going back to Caleb Rowe who is coming off second ACL and may not have been fully physically ready to go at the beginning of camp this year. I was shocked that Hills won the qb competition initially as my feeling was that either Rowe or Garman (Okst xfr) provided better options. Hills really lacks arm strength and as a result Terps have been unable to get any stretch in their passing game and take advtg. of their speed at WR position. This week both speedy freshman WRs (Taivon Jacobs and D.J. Moore) have been promoted to starters in the hopes to get something going with a more vertical passing game. Both have played well and are deserving. Rowe finally got put into the game last week and quite frankly it was too late at that point, and he tried to force some things and got picked. I am anxious to see him get the start, as I really thought he should have been the starter last year over an ineffective C.J. Brown who we watched continuously miss plays in the passing game. Rowe blew the ACL out though and that was the end of his season. SF seems to me to be fairly one dimensional on offense with the running game being their bread and butter. Maybe I am not giving Flowers enough credit but don't see much of a threat with their passing game at this point. SF battled well for a half vs. FSU last week, and do have a pretty solid LB corps and their DL seems to be coming on. Taggart has recruited some good young players and seems to have the program going in the right direction. Not sure what to advise on a play on MD this week but I would expect a lot better performance this week.

You just did with your post , Dr Tim. Thank you for the reply, and good luck as always. And if Terps don't turn it around against So Florida, that is MY BAD, not yours.
