Carolinablue Week 4 CFB Plays

Wife is shopping here in Waikiki so I am hanging out on a bench outside the store sweating like crazy so what better to do than make some plays right haha

4-3 this past weekend for a small profit but I will take it as it looked like a pretty brutal week based on the box scores.

Year to date now 20-13 for 60% so won't here any complaints from me so fat as this season has been difficult to navigate thus far in my opinion.

Two plays at 5D...

ULL +5 110
NMSU +18.5 110

One play at BOL...

Kentucky -2 110

Time to go pay for shoes so catch you guys later!

Lol Kentucky -2 seems like a lock to me. Cocks offense look like shit and Ecu game was the definition of misleading score if there ever is one.

Kentucky is horrible. I wouldn't bet them against 22 guys I could gather up in this forum. Not saying they won't cover, but they are worse than Vandy, in my opinion. Overall, this is a brutal game

I think we could field a solid team here but injuries would set in around the 2nd qtr

You and the Fam couldn't wait a few more months and follow the Heels over to Maui?! J/k. Have fun and BOL on the plays.

haha fair point, this will be an extremely ugly game

This is what I would like my life to be like after I retire. Laying under the sun, drink in hand, beautiful wife by my side and putting in cfb plays. Does it get any better than this...

Added

Ball state -2.5 135
CMU -2.5 125

Expensive but wanted to get under 3 in both cases.

Ball state defensive line should have a field day this weekend as I love how aggressive they are and how they get after the QB. Going up against a young makeshift OL by committee is the perfect matchup for these guys.

CMU is a team I love as they have the experience at key positions and I just don't see UVA being able to score more than 17 and even that may be a stretch.

Looks like I left points on the table with NMSU as I could have gotten 21 120 but honestly don't think it matter as I have Troy only 9.5 better so expecting a 34-24 type of game give or take.

ULL is another where I could have gotten a better line by waiting but I actually have ULL winning SU so not gonna sweat the difference between 5/5.5.

Updated record...

20-13 +5.89 units

Went 4-3 last week +0.84 units

That should be right but correct me if I am wrong as I am beginning to respect the power of the Mai Tai with double rum floater!

Enjoy the rest of your trip and BOL on the action.

Thanks man...headed to the big island in the morning to check out the lava flow at the volcano national park. Still can't get used to CFB Saturdays starting at 6am and the pre weekend games starting early afternoon but pretty sure I could get used to it!

Last play of the weekend

North Texas +7.5 115 at BOL

Rice shouldn't be favored by two scores against anyone...well except maybe Charlotte and a few FCS teams haha.

This one is a toss up for me so will probably use my remaining 25 of free plays on them and NMSU.

Mai Tai ML ML plays.

Only $5 each and all are free plays so don't tail me on these that's for sure!

BGSU +525
NMSU +775
UMASS +925

Glad you made that statement about navigating. I feel same way, just not quite in sync.

100% agree! Actually feel downright grateful to be up 5+ given how I just haven't gotten into the flow of things yet coupled with the fact that I have reached and played far more games than normal out of the gate.

I have not seen unc this year and would like your opinion on their game with Pitt.

Ive watched pitt twice and defensively they are not good at all defending the pass.
They do some nice things on offense with the RB and Henderson on Jett sweeps but none of that matters if they get behind and are forced to pass.

Im an ok st fan and our QB was terrible throwing the ball yet hung a school record on Pitt. Ok st turnovers kept the game from going to 21 from 14 Pitt scores to make it 7 and you got ball game.

Can unc play d? Does the offense have the firepower you expect out of a fedora team?

thanks for your take

pitt is hurting at receiver this year and their most experienced guy is already out. matt canada installed a power running came, complimented by a short end around with waterbug quadree henderson. you need an almost 'flexbone' like discipline to defend it. compliments to canada and narduzzi. shut that down they're limited. neither ped state or okie state could.

on defense narduzzi's system is constant pressure and make the qb beat them. if he can't get pressure with 4 he brings 5. and then 6. he leaves himself wide open on the backend, but unlike at sparty where he developed a ton of 1st round cbs, pitt is still using short and slow, chryst and graham leftovers. they're best pass rushing de, transfer from tennessee, played a few plays vs villanova and is out for the year. he would've been a difference maker. their best cb, a true freshman, hasn't played a down due to preseason injury. the best player is safety whitehead. he's got a big job to hold everything together.

check out the drive chart vs ped state. the pedders couldn't move the ball until pitt's pass rushers tired at the end of the 1h. then narduzzi had to send 5 and 6 almost every play. even a terrible qb like mcsorley can find a guy running wide open. in the 2h pitt was exhausted and held on for dear life.

at okie state, pitt struggled to get pressure. rudolph mason and james washington torched pitt's cbs for 450 yards in the 1h. in the 2h narduzzi backed off the cbs, still blitzed, but mason was horribly inaccurate. he couldn't take the curls, in and outs that pitt was gifting them. it was truly incompetent. okie state had less than 200 yards in the 2h.

I think trubisky is way better than rudolph and should have no trouble picking apart the patchwork pitt defense. my only question is will unc have the discipline to stop the inside power/ quick end around?

... Yea, the over can't be high enough in this game. I'd take the damn thing OTB if it were my responsibility to do so. Very easily be in the sixties by HT.

Thanks for your considered reply.

Ok st was fortunate to get the weather delay and opportunity to scheme to stop runs off the edge.

I wish I would have watched unc/uga. Chubb had 222 on 32 carries with 55 of it was a late TD run.

As evidenced by rudolphs school record day on horrendous accuracy stats mean something but don't tell the story.

I like unc here a lot

Again what a detailed and helpful take you shared.
Thank you

you're welcome, let's just hope it's accurate lol. best of luck whatever you take. weather should be great

Just to clarify, the total discussion in the thread wasn't by me as I am beyond abysmal at totals so you will never evvvvvvver (credit to Chris Jericho) see me play another total again, but great discussion by a bunch of guys here in the thread.

Sitting at airport waiting for first leg to LA, so figured I would check the scores and was pleasantly surprised to see I ended up 5-2 +2.174 units on the day.

Through week 4 record sits at 25-15 +8.064 units. Pretty sure I added everything up right in my head but will double check as I always want to ensure accuracy all the way around.

Will be late to the party in week 5 but should be able to put in some work early in the week once things settle a bit upon re-entry into the "real world".

Sitting in LAX reviewing box scores, local paper game recaps online, injuries etc. At first glance week 5 looks like it may be a fav heavy card but very interested to see if I can get three scores with my Heels as a dog down in Tallahassee.
