Thoughts on Clemson SMU. I know you how the Acc well

Interesting random fact…

Clemson is 7-0 in ACC Championship Games held in Charlotte from 2011-22.

The Mustangs went 8-0 in conference games and scored over 30 points in seven of those eight contests.

Six of those eight league wins came by double digits, including all four wins in November.

Most sites seem to be falling for an easy DD SMU win especially after the Clemson performance this past Saturday.

Yet the line opened at -1.5 and has only gone up to 2.5…

When I woke up Sunday morning after I know it opened SMU -1....Clemson were -1/1.5 everywhere. Obviously it went back to favoring SMU and I don't think line moves between the 3s are worth much but found that interesting that Clemson were favored 24 hours ago after SMU opened the favorite. That movement makes the whole thing uninteresting to me. It's become a total or nothing market here

I only saw the -1.5 but not surprised to hear it opened either as Clemson fav or pk or smu fav. Guess my point is that SMU seems to be the “easy” pick here and I am probably the predominant favs player on this site (guilty as charged) but not taking em this time around even though they have done me well.

Currently in the mid 20’s here in Charlotte, coldest morning of the season so far. Gametime Saturday night is gonna be below freezing most likely upper 20’s, no wind, just blustery cold.

Crowd trending towards 80/20 Clemson which isn’t a surprise. Neutral site on paper but should feel more like a Clemson home game, especially if they get out of the gate fast. Will be interesting to see how SMU handles the environment since this will be unchartered territory for them.

Like Oregon but not a fan of 3.5. Doesn’t make sense to do the 2.5 at 148 so holding out to see if I can snag a ML under 160 but not sure that will happen.

Hey man you are definitely right about the line play last time around. Will come down to whether Ewers can do a better job identifying coverages as I don’t put all 7 sacks on him but do agree that UGA had their way in the trenches.

Ultimately do I believe 7 sacks and 4 turnovers will play out again…no. I think Texas will make the necessary adjustments and Ewers will play better than Beck and Texas will exploit opportunities vs the UGA defense both on the ground and through the air.

Similar to Boise last night, sometimes I just go with my gut even when others are piling on the other side. Should be a fun one either way!
