BOWL SEASON PREVIEW--As of Week 10

RJ Esq

Well, Bowl Season is almost upon us. How do I know? Because I'm getting ready to make my annual 10 day reservation in Vegas for the December Bowls. Man, I'm looking forward to it. Poker, Bowls, and sacking out for 10 days. Awesome.

Well, in looking over the schedule--and now that things are getting a little more certain--I wanted to post the projected bowl matchups from CFN. This week's projections have a few interesting bowl matchups.

Like ASU v. Hawaii in the Hawaii bowl and TT v. Purdue in the Insight.com bowl. And (for me since I'll probably also be buying tickets) BYU v. Oregon in the Las Vegas Bowl and Texas v. Boise St. in the Fiesta Bowl.

Here are the current projections:

I can't believe Texas is gonna end up playing Boise St. What a pathetic game that'll be if it happens. Bring on ND or one of the SEC teams please.

Funny matchups there.

GT loses this week..WVU as well...and Wisky beats PSU at home..so that changes all of those projections right there

We'll see what happens.

If Texas gets stuck with Boise this year, I'm not going to the Fiesta Bowl. If we get a good matchup (and ND isn't going there this year, so it will have to be someone else--Florida/SEC West Loser perhaps?), I'll go.

I'm stuck in limbo right now until the first Week of December so my Vegas reservation will go from Dec 20 through the 31st. Have to figure out exact dates after the Fiesta Bowl matchup is named.

the bcs matchups look horrible this year, if thats what they pan out to be.

let notre dame play boise, they both suck and have a bunch of slowpokes on defense.

michigan vs cal is fine with me.
ohio st vs w va will be uuuuuuuuugly. im not just talkin bout the game, but all the white trash inbred hillbillies in the stands.... yikes.
the only team i'd want to see out of the acc is clemson, but im not sure bout them any more after the va tech game.
i would love to see texas matchup with an SEC team. i wish it could be lsu, cuz i think they have the most talent and playmakers, but that wont happen. auburn doesnt impress me, but id definately settle for a texas/florida matchup.

if texas plays boise, id probably bet the over no matter what the number.

lmfao...

Some ugly ass matchups for the Big Ten there...OUCH...

Indiana vs VT...

Penn St vs LSU..

Purdue vs TTU

A & M vs Iowa..

I'm not sure the Big Ten would be favored in any game except the two BCS games..

w/ all those matchups, there would be about 15 DD fave games total...

Crazy year..

and USC vs Mizzou...lmfao.

Oh Yee of Great Avatar Pics,

Texas would probably hope to get AU if everyone keeps winning. AU is behind the 8 ball with Arkansas holding a de facto 2 game lead. My Tigahs will be fortunate, I think, to finish 9-3 and end up in the Cotton, Outback or Capital One. So, Arky is probably headed to Atlanta because I think they split LSU and UT. AU probably wins out and is 11-1 and in the top ten, making a very attractive BCS.

Short verson of most likely event:
Ark wins out or loses one of UT, @MSU, LSU and goes to Atlanta and loses to UF.
UF to Sugar
Ark to Cotton

AU wins out (Arky St, UGA and Bama left) but misses Atlanta because the Hogs hold the head to head tie breaker. AU is 11-1.
AU to BCS

LSU and Tennesse fill in, depending on who beats who, the Capital One and Outback.
UGA to Liberty
USC/BAMA/Vandy?UK? to Indy and Music City.

I have no idea of the BCS Bowl picking order. I am pretty sure the Rose would get the first selection since it loses the Big 10 Champ to the BCS Title game and so takes the Big Ten loser to face Pac-10 champ Cal. So, after that, where AU, ND and Boise St go is something I don't know yet. Anyone know who picks first for their at large slot this year?

You and me both brother. I am hoping for Cotton, Outback or Capital One. Would love for LSU to meet up with Penn St, Wisky, Nebraska or Oklahoma.

Anyone think the Emerald Bowl will be enough to save Coker's job? :smiley_acbe:

See ya later Larry!
