Careful with unmotivated Purdue... GL SHark!!!

You are absolutely correct that Purdue (seems) unmotivated. And this game is also a revenge game for CMU since they were beaten badly by Purdue on their last meeting. Im also looking at the fact that this game is being played at Michigan which gives CMU an advantage that they did not have in their last game. But.......Purdue (knows) that they can beat CMU, they have already done so. You can argue that CMU has gotten better since their last game but so has Purdue and their last 2 losses came against better teams than CMU has played. I believe they get fired up in this ball game and believe me, they will not forget that they were beaten on the second half of their last encounter. Films have been studied and adjustments made. This should come down to the last quarter. Purdue will not let down again.

Ya, I see the argument backing Purdue. I remember several picked Purdue as their sleeper Big Ten champ and when they went into that first CMU game they were very confident, motivated and Chippy (no pun intended). Having lost 5 of their last 7 and playing a bowl in a cold weather locale-- just having a hard time seeing how Purdue is getting better.

GL bro, anxious to see how you see the rest of the bowl games..

“After the way our regular season ended, our hope was to play one more game and make it our best game,” said head coach Joe Tiller, who will take his 10th Purdue team to postseason play in 11 seasons. “We are excited to be involved in the bowl scene again against an extremely talented Central Michigan team. There is no question that these two teams know one another.”

Yep, they will be ready :smiley_acbe:

Congratulations CMU backers. Those kids played their hearts out.
Another 21 point lead blown by Purdue. :moose:

leaning hard on Ariz St.. thoughts? Getting my final research done now..

I dont know tee*dub. I originally picked Texas but the Sun Devils are dissapointed for not having been picked by the BCS. Now they get a chance to play Texas and it takes the sting out a little. Both teams are tough against the run so I see it as a shoot out. McCoy throws alot of picks and Texa's Defense has allowed an average of 275.5 passing yards per game. I think Arizona St. can take this. What are your thoughts? I havent exactly been burning the books so far in bowl games. But then again, it's been very strange this year.

I agree with everything you say Spanishshark... I just disagree with your pick. I think McCoy will throw his picks and Carpenter does get his yards, but the key to a game like this is 2nd half adjustments. And who is better at that than a coach like Mack Brown. I think Mack makes the scheme changes that Texas will need to pull this one out in the end. This will be a GREAT game though.

GL with whatever you guys play!!!!!!!!!

I agree with everything you say Spanishshark... I just disagree with your pick.

hehe, I havent picked yet. I like Texas just havent pulled the trigger. But whatever I do, go the other way cause nothing has been working out for me in college so far. :shake:

abc123, just so you know, ASU was dominant in second halves for most of the year. Erickson's as good as it gets in that regard.

dominant against who though... Wash st, washington, stanford???? ASU chocked in the second half in games that mattered(USC, OREGON). Just think that TEX has the edge here and I will be putting a lot down on them. GL in whatever you decide to play!!!!!!

Well, I'm going to stick to my original instinct and go with Texas - 2 1/2. It seems the books want us to take ASU making them underdogs as higher ranked. I think the experience Texas has in this bowl game (3 times in 4 years) should keep them up by atleast a field goal. I'm hoping McCoy keeps his head and not give too many picks. If he can control that then they should coast.

Texas/Arizona St............Texas - 2 1/2

Its ok to FADE THE SHARK :36_11_6:

tee*dub....Saw that line move. I actually like it. Means books want even more money on ASU. Texas....lets go baby

Good Luck tee*dub. Be careful with Maryland. It has a vanilla offense and Oregon State has one hell of a defense that should be able to put pressure on the QB all night long.

good job on the 2 you won, but yeah, that BC loss is still hurting me. They had an 11 pt lead, and the ball, and give up the td, plus the 2 pt conv. fuckers won the game to so it pisses me off more. anyways, good luck tomorrow.

Connecticut/Wake Forest.......UConn +2...Saturday 12/29

Central Florida/Miss.St...........UCF -3.......Saturday 12/29

Im loving this game. UCF's Kevin Smith going for Barry Sanders record. MSU's defense gonna try and stop him. Actually, the only thing MSU has going for it in this game is its defense. Here is a little information taken from Collegefootballnews by Pete Fiutak;

"You've heard about Kevin Smith, and you've probably seen a few highlights. Now's your chance to see a possible single-season rushing record fall and finally be able to see one of the best players in college football this season.

All Smith did was run for 2,448 yards and 29 touchdowns while leading UCF to the Conference USA title, and now he's just 180 yards away from breaking Barry Sanders' single-season rushing record (although Sanders set the mark in just 11 games and bowl games statistics didn't count towards the tally). If he's going to get the record, he'll have to earn it against a Mississippi State team fired up to be in a bowl game for the first time since 2000.

After struggling for years to get to respectability, Sylvester Croom's Bulldogs won seven games beating Auburn, Kentucky and Alabama with a strong defense and just enough offense to get by. This might not be a juggernaut of an SEC team, but it's more than good enough to pull off the win over a UCF team in search of its first bowl victory.

George O'Leary took his Knight team to the Conference USA title game in 2005, but lost, and went to the Hawaii Bowl against Nevada, and lost in a 49-48 heartbreaker. Now his UCF team is rock-solid having built up to this point after a few years of growing pains, and now the reclamation project is complete. Considering the Orlando location, the new stadium, and the potential, this is a program on the verge of blowing up into something truly special. But to take the next step, this is a must-win for the team and the conference.

If Conference USA wants to be taken seriously, it needs to win a game like this when its shining star is going against a mediocre BCS conference team. UCF already beat NC State, and was strong in a loss to Texas, but people are going to actually be watching this game, and if there's a second straight Liberty Bowl loss to the SEC (Houston lost last year to South Carolina in a classic), it'll be that much harder to get the respect the league is desperate for."
