No worries Fondy, good luck with your plays.

My dog pick with Vassallo was ill advised and I'm stoked that Karlovic withdrew in the 2nd set when he was down 2-6, 1-3. Saved me a chunk of change.

Melzer was tough and won his match 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 with the final break coming tied 4-4 in the 3rd set.

RRH also got off to a slow start but ultimately ended up with the rather easy win, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.

Already won this one in the 1st set, Srichaphan wins 6-2 and looks focused. Davy retires due to some kind of virus. So now I'm back to where I started today and all the matches are over.

6-3-1 +6.5 unit$

Jurgen Melzer vs Filippo Volandri

Volandri -160 for 2.5 units

ATP China Open - Beijing, China - Final Matchups September 17, 2006

Mario Ancic vs Marcos Baghdatis

Ancic +100 for 2.5 units

Thinking most likely I'll get the 1-1 split but Volandri should take Melzer down as Melzer is playing beyond his means and its time for the higher ranked player to win. A note for this match has to be Volandri's weak record vs Lefty's, 1-5 in his last 6. The last match vs a lefty on clay was a W for Volandri so I'm semi convinced that that shouldn't affect him too much.

Volandri also beat the previous winner BCR Open in his previous match and I feel like he's the better back right now

Ancic is 3-0 lifetime against Bags.

Mario has bettled back well from injury and he has beaten Bags on 3 different surfaces, (Hard court, Indoor Hard and Grass) prior to this match. I've seen some rumors stating the Bags will be awarded more money with a loss in the match.

Ancic was poised for a big run this year prior to his knee and leg injuries and I think this will get him back on track. I just can't see why this match isn't a pure pickem, with the exception to Ancic's conditioning and time away from the circuit. Bags is going for his 1st ever ATP finals win.
