I always say I am going to be quick and then ramble off a bunch of stuff but I need to stick with it this week...
LAST WEEK:
I think the Michigan State players may have started to quit in that 2nd half...
Ohio State ran the ball very well. I mention their run game every week as a small issue, but they answered the bell last week...
Michigan won a game that almost every team has ever lost. The turnovers were something else. Now, for 3 quarters of that game, Bryce Underwood was absolutely fantastic. This came versus a solid pass defense. A few mistakes in the 4th, and frankly, when he does make one turnover, he tends to let that affect him for a few series. That being said, he made two great plays on the winning drive. I said before the season started that special teams would cost Michigan a game or two. This should have been one. Ten games in, they are finally benching Semaj Morgan. He is so bad. Our AA kicker has been slightly less than stellar this year, but made it when it counted. That try before half was good from 60+ if he didn't push it slightly. Impressive outdoors on that field.
Wisconsin keeps fighting, and that D is so damn good.
Very impressive win by USC. They showed some moxie coming back from the early double-digit deficit. Jayden was excellent versus that defense. Great prep for this week...
Thank you, Washington, for scoring points over and over and paying for my dinner at MGM last Saturday Night!
THIS WEEK:
The goal for Ohio State is to stay healthy and get ready for Michigan and Indiana the next two weeks. Rutgers' defense is so, so bad, and we have two chances left to make money off that fact!
Iowa is a 17-point favorite, and unless they are truly looking ahead, I would lean that way. This is a game I will be stalking live for MSU fades (spread and TT). I think they have quit.
Wisconsin could be 'live' at home to the Illini simply because of their defense.
We have a late-night game between Washington and UCLA that will be one I could be quite involved in. The Bruins came back to life mid-season, but have started to falter again. I would imagine they only care about USC next week. This game is just in their way to both the rivalry and the off-season.
Michigan injuries are always a concern this year, and I doubt we see Marshall this week. They'll have to play a much cleaner game and lean on the defense here. This is a dead under, methinks, as I think Moore will lean into the game plan a bit more here and pound out a win.
The BIG GAME is out in Eugene, at 12:30 local time. I wish this were a night game, but oh well. This is basically a playoff game here; one of these teams is eliminated after Saturday. I won't say Oregon is totally out, but they would need some help. USC is playing for its playoff lives! Both teams play much more physically this year than when they entered this conference. Both are adapting, and that helps in December and January. Oregon should win this game, but do not count out SC if they play a clean game. They cannot leave points off the board like they did in South Bend.
