Some interesting games this week.

Free fall in sparty land? Who will be the qb there? Terry got snaps in second half.

That oline has been getting punished abs the D is not the same as last several years.. I think they are feeling the effects of narduzzi being gone.

Osu slept through most of that game imo. Jt was a little off but it was never in doubt. Indiana controlled the pace it seemed.

Definitely looking forward to that one next week. Does Wisconsin get anyone back from injury?

Classic Iowa must win spot. Physical as hell in that one.

Was surprised by the ass whopping Maryland put on Pedo U.

No words for Rutgers and Michigan.

Gl this week and bring some shit in if you want.
 
Also this week's Rutgers-Illini game likely the only thing standing between both of those teams and a winless B1G season. Big game for two first year coaching staffs.
 
What's the opinion of the IU defense? I know it's better than last year's. Just curious...
 
pretty decent, bar. they're sound, well-coached. I'm concerned this week for sure, esp without Carter and Westerkamp and a possibly hobbled Armstrong.
 
when a grad transfer from neb who never started immediately became a starter on the DL at msu, you knew they were going to have problems.
 
barkley definitely has it all. something weird though, he almost never cuts left. 299 carries maybe 2 or 3 times i've seen him cut left. and it's not nearly as strong a move to his right. it's like playing a point guard who has no left hand. and when he's absolutely forced to left, he tries this ineffective, elongated spin move. sounds crazy but just watch. it's weird
 
very disappointed in durkin. their gameplan at ped state was ridiculous and they failed to adjust in game or after halftime. they repeatedly tried to attack ped state on the edge. just stupid. walking right into what they want you to do. pitt pounded them between the tackles and used the jet sweep/ quick end around to keep them honest. maryland didn't run it nearly enough between the tackles. they killed drives by asking hills to pass. he was terrible. got hurt. pigrome was effective on some between the tackles runs, but dreadful anytime they asked him to throw. which surprisingly happened way too often.

defense was worse. way worse. they started out trying to defend psu straight up. 4 man rush. sometimes 3. very little blitzing. mind boggling. took all the pressure off mcsorley and he played well. psu has way too many weapons to do that. late 2q and early 3q they finally began blitzing mcsorley and had success and then inexplicably reverted back to the original gameplan. the final cherry on top was the spy they used on mcsorely on passing downs. first of all that's a stupid idea, but if you are going to spy him, use a guy that can catch him. he repeatedly let him get outside and extend drives. and they never changed personnel. baffling. i thought durkin and crew were the next must get coaches
 
Penn St with a huge bump in the S&P+ ranking. They are the 3rd ranked B1G team currently and jumped from 38 to 17. Rated Top 15 in defense and of course ST's led by American Hero Joey Julius which brings me to this week's edition:

I heard on the radio yesterday that the Ann Arbor Ruth's Chris had a promotion to give a percentage discount on the bill equal to the victory margin of Michigan-Rutgers. Bet the GM of the restaurant was the only Michigan fan pissed off by the end of the game. Any of Michigan guys go get your Cowboy Ribeyes at 78% off?

Actually heard they capped it at 50% off, but still a great deal

It is true. They were already booked early Sunday I believe.
 
The demise of Michigan State and Notre Dame and the re rise of Michigan is all I could ask for this football season.

And that Barkley kid is amazing to watch, football porn, its really the only reason anyone should refer to Penn State as Ped St if you ask me.....I digress. Penn State playing well and rising in those S&P ranks is vital to Michigan SOS at end of year if in a battle with team like Louisville for last spot. 49-10 over a team that has potential to be top 20 is huge.

One loss Michigan/Ohio State over one loss Louisville is probably what last spot will come down to as long as Washington chokes one up.

They did and THEN capped it at 50% AFTER the game..Nevertheless I dont eat red meat and its a drive, and the chef is probably spitting in the food he's so pissed he being worked like a dog mid week sans the benefits so I'm out.

How the fuck is Illinois only favored by - 6 over Rutgers? God they must suck too. Haven't watched them much either.

Leidner is for sure OUT for Saturday's game.

I know absolutely nothing about the kid starting in his place. He wasn't on the radar preseason. Croft was expected to be #2 but at this point they plan to redshirt him and see how Rhoda plays. Claeys said on the radio today they will determine the game plan on Thursday after assessing how he does in practice. Whatever he feels most comfortable with is how they will build their game plan. Doesn't give me the warm fuzzies inside to hear that BS.

Cool, thanks. I took +21 today and thought that was silly. I don't know, I guess I don't see a ton between Wisconsin and Penn St and Bucks laying 10 Saturday.
 
I feel like psu will do worse than PRs would say vs the top teams. Was on michigan big vs psu. Psu does seem better now than then but that may just be who they've played. 21 would prob be the lowest i would consider tsking there.
 
Watche most of the 2h yest of purdue illinois. Both teams moved it pretty well. Crouch was impressive when he had time. Threw a couple of nice corner routes, is a good athlete who gives them that running dimension. They ran some zone read that was effective which they just cant do with Lunt. I like the illy RB too. They should put pts up on the lessor Ds which i think rutg qualifies.

The illy defense was a major disappointment to me. Purdue ran the same shotgun outside handoff play over and over. They consistently sealed the edge. The illy OLB were just awful. Kept getting caught inside, no ability to get off blocks. Just not good at all and was surprising as their D played pretty well for 3 qtrs the week before vs neb.

I do think the purdue off is a little better than they get credit for. Prob quite a bit better than where rutg is right now. Still debating illy this week.

I'd say the bump was mostly due to beating a 4-0 team. If MAryland lose again penn St will fall

hahaha that is great. Sparty fans on message boards are folk heros in the eyes of many Bama fans. There has been some hilarious banter on one another's boards the past couple times we have played and credit to Sparty fans for having a great attitude and making light of two of the absolute worst beating Ive ever seen Bama inflict
