Any word on Pistons-Bulls schedule yet?

Interesting that Marv Albert said that no 2nd round games will start until all 1st round matchups are complete.

Looking at the TV Schedules:

Monday TNT - Jazz-Rockets Gm 5 & Spurs-Nuggets Gm 4

Tuesday TNT - Raps-Nets Gm 5 & Mavs-Warriors Gm 5

Wed TNT - Spurs-Nuggets Gm 5 & Suns-Lakers Gm 5

Thurs TNT has a doubleheader block listed - Jazz-Rockets Gm 6 is one, only other possibility is Mavs-Warriors Gm 6 (likely IMO)

Fri ESPN has a doubleheader block listed - Possible games are Cavs-Wiz Gm 6 (no way), Suns-Lakers Gm 6 (doubtful), Spurs-Nuggets Gm 6 (good chance), Raps-Nets Gm 6 (maybe). Could drop to just one game, I don't think they'll be shut out for the night.

Sat TNT has a single game listed, this has been skipped in the past - two possibles are Jazz-Rockets Gm 7 and Mavs-Warriors Gm 7

Sun ABC has a doubleheader block listed - Possible games are Cavs-Wiz Gm 7 (no), Suns-Lakers Gm 7 (doubtful), Spurs-Nuggets Gm 7 (maybe), Raps-Nets Gm 6 (doubtful). I think there's a decent chance we see two game 1s on Sunday, Pistons-Bulls to be one of them.

Yea the 2nd rd schedule has to coincide with the rest of the games played in the round. Wont see a schedule til rd 1 is over.

Detroit is -190 at Bookmaker, Believe.

Conspiracy question of the day:

Does it matter that all the sportsbooks have Game 1 penciled in for Saturday night on TNT? Not exactly for that series, but for finishing Round 1? I have seen nothing on NBA.com announcing that. Makes me wonder what the prospects are for Utah or Dallas to extend their series to 7 games.

That's the "likely" time slot for it. Nothing is set in stone until TNT or NBA.com posts the schedule. So, I wouldn't think into it too hard.

Yeah, probably nothing to it. Just in case I threw in a couple of small, fun ML parlays based on the upcoming schedule. Tor-Dal-LAL-Hou for 34 to 1, Tor-Dal-Den-Hou for 26 to 1, and Tor-Dal-LAL-Den-Hou for 174 to 1. I think Tor, Dal & Hou are strong picks regardless, need LAL and/or DEN to win to fill out ESPN's schedule on Friday night. BOL!

TNT says ABC will be resuming their coverage of the NBA Playoffs on Sunday, which leads me to believe we will get Game 1 of the Bulls/Pistons then.

As expected, Game 1 will be Saturday and Game 2 will be Monday. The league didn't release the game times for either game, but both will be on TNT. As for Games 3 and 4 in Chicago, I suspect the TV honchos will do it the same way they did last season, and not start those games until Friday or Saturday. I expect Game 3 will be on Friday, and Sunday for Game 4. The TV times, as well as dates for Games 3 and 4 should be released later on this week.

Nocioni: 'We are going to win'

Posted by Justin Rogers May 02, 2007 12:24PM

Andres Nocioni is all about the predictions. After correctly prognosticating the Miami Heat's demise at the hand of the Bulls, Nocioni is expecting the Pistons to fall in similar fashion.
May 2, Lake County News-Sun: Only days after Nocioni correctly predicted he and the Bulls would beat the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs, the forward was more specific about the outcome vs. the Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference semifinals. "We are going to win. We are going to win, of course," Nocioni said flatly Tuesday at the Berto Center. "I believe we can win. We are going to play seven games, and we are going to win (Game 7) in Detroit. It will be nice. Nice."
...
"I expected a loss in Miami," Nocioni turned serious. "They were the last champions. I didn't want to tell everybody that we would sweep the champions. That would not be right."
"The same thing (applies) with Detroit. Detroit has lot of experience and great players, so I won't say anything wrong (about them)."

The bulls are screwed. They will see a completely different Detroit team than what they saw in the regular season. Only way I see the bulls with a solid chance is if Ben can continue to go 7 for 7 from the line or whatever he hit in the Heat series.

Tottally Serious. Recent matchups between the teams will do nothing in predicting this series. The last meeting at the Palace Ben didn't play, Rip only played 15 minutes or something like before he got tossed. And it didn't matter anyway because Detroit had the East all but wrapped up. The game before that in Chicago Webber and Rip both didn't play, so no use in bringing that up. And their 2nd meeting of the year the last one I would think to look the Piston's didn't yet aquire Webber and Billups didn't play so rule that one out.

The Bulls are 2nd in the League in steals, this is negated by the Piston's having the 2nd fewest turnovers in the league.

The Bulls are second in the league in three-point percentage. The team ahead of them, Detroit.

Points in the paint is a complete joke. The Piston's have 4 people that can score significantly inside with McDyess, Wallace, Webber and Prince. Everyone of those players can also step outside and hit long range jump shots. The Piston's are gonna pull Ben away from the basket and punish them inside. Then the Bulls are gonna get frustrated and start shooting jump shots. Their gonna miss eventually, get pissed, and yadda yadda yadda. I do think this series goes 7 games so don't think i'm all Piston's. But I'm looking at the big picture and everything the Bulls might try to do I see a way the Piston's handle it. There's a reason this series line opened at around -200 for Detroit.

:shake: go ahead flame me.
