Andrew Bynum Suspended Indefinitely

Pretty much a regular
Andrew Bynum - C - Cavaliers

Andrew Bynum has been suspended indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team.

The announcement was made by GM Chris Grant. Bynum did not travel with the team to Boston and will not play on Saturday. Currently there is no information on the length of the suspension, or the factors that caused the disciplinary action. Take him out of your lineups for now and check back for more information as it becomes available. Anderson Varejao will likely start at center and Tyler Zeller should see an increase in minutes in a backup role. Bynum is averaging just 8.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, and sinking a dreadful 41.9 percent of his shots from the field. It is his lowest field goal percentage since his rookie season.

@WojYahooNBA: About Bynum suspension, league source tells Yahoo: "He doesn't want to play basketball anymore. He never liked it that much in first place."

You don't get payed when you're suspended indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team, correct? If that's so Bynum is beyond dumb. He could have just rode the bench and acted like he cared and gotten paid. Really weird behavior.

Not dumb at all.. It's not about money.. Guy has made over 25 million....
there is more to it than we know.. My guess is the team chemistry is a mess, they are losing and probably don't like the coach ... Just a guess...

a career long under performer….a ton of talent wasted….

he turned down a pretty large extension with lakers back in 2011, think it was 15/60, maybe more

yeah i dont think bynum cares about the money that much

but that doesnt mean he's not dumb lol

Gives him more time to transition to becoming a professional bowler...

you are all calling him dumb... he has you all fooled- he is playing it smart....

No team will trade for Bynum and spend 6 mill if he doesn't want to play there. He's playing this perfectly. Depressing but true.

Cavs' big mistake was including a Jan. 7 opt-out deadline for them to guarantee rest of Bynum's deal this year. Gave him an out.

Bynum wants to end up with Heat or Clips. But he'd have to be released + Cavs want to trade him

ynum signed a two-year contract for $24.8 million with the Cavs, but only $6 million of it is guaranteed before Jan. 7. After that date, the full $12.25 million this season is guaranteed. Next season's $12.5 million is not guaranteed until July 10.

if the cavs could trade him and add in waiters or bennet - would need something significant in return. both guys high picks at low value.... just throwing it out there for discussion... that opt out is huge...if traded that team would have to tell him yes we would pick up the guarantee ..

good read on the situation:
